I don't think so. I tried to export images from a model with a draped ortho in it two months ago and they still looked horrible. The Windows clipboard did a better job than SU's exporter.

Vue has a similar issue with SU collada exports.

No, don't think of it like that. Think of using the ppi to control how many pixels are in an inch of real space. So if the image is 100x100 pixels, set to 10 ppi, it would import at 10" x 10". I often set up my images this way in photoshop. I work on an image that is 24" x 36" at 150 dpi. When I import that to SU, it would be nice to have an option to keep current image size, so it actually comes in at 24" x 36" in the model. I wouldn't always want every image to do that, but the option to do it would be handy sometimes. Chris

I am just a 3d hobbiest and have only ever used sketchup. I tried other programs but the learning curve was too big. I've only found two things so far I can't do with sketchup. 1.) I can't rig a model so I can pose it. For example, I made a model of a man in a space suit and wanted him to be posable. I couldn't make something like an elbow bend. To get around it, I made the upper arm and lower arm two groups on layer 1. The two groups overlap each other so as one moves, the overlaped parts of the other are exposed to fill in the empty space. I built a rig on layer 2 and grouped parts of the model to the rig in layer 3. It works, but it doesn't look great. 2.) I can't unwrap my models in sketchup to texture them. I think the pro's call it UV mapping. Whatever it's called, I can't do it in sketchup.

Well, unfortunately I am not a kmz master myself and additionally, Google keeps changing its conversion convention all the time. This last (SU 7.1) change was actually very significant and a lot of things has changed (which keeps the whole world amazed). I can ask however.

If you need to see the full resolution in SU, split the image into smaller tiles of max 1024x1024.

I'm using the latest Podium download (I just bought it last week) and my computer is a PC, with Vista. I think it's real cool how they have a library of light fixtures ... any of you guys know where I can find some lights for the entertainment industry? Like space lights, kenos, 10k's, fischer lights etc ... I'm using sketchup/podium to build sets so it would be sweet if I could show the director how the sets gonna look once we have it all lit Anyone else out there in the set building business?? Cheers

@jaxcoffee said: The number 600 million were counts of unique activations of the Google Earth program. And are accurate. I believe those are global numbers. Between home and work I have 3 computers with google earth on and each of them has had GE installed at least twice (as a result of reformating the HD) so I alone take up 6 of that 600 million. I should imagine I am far from the only one.

@elderla said: Is there a setting to control the node spacing when using the freehand tool? Thanks Donna You could as well try the FreeHand tool of ToolsOnSurface, which includes the setting of the node spacing in pixel (or allow a point on click mode without inference).
