I believe what you may want is ThomThom's Edge Tools. At the top of this page see the red button to the Plugins Index. Look for the set under ThomThom, click on the name and the topic will come up. The first post explains, describes the usage. I believe this is a free one. "Vertex Tools" however, I believe is commercial.

I use soapskin & bubble to make raised beds all the time. It works great for complicated curvy bed shapes. http://www.tensile-structures.de/sb_software.html

Outliner is a good thing to use - make sure however to close or at least minimize it before using some of the plugins that add considerable amount of geometry to your model (like the Fur plugin or such) as SU will try update it instantly and you will get lags very easily. As for layers, here is a good video why not to put ungrouped geometry on other than Layer 0 as in SU, layers are merely for controlling visibility and not for separating geometry. @snowball2007 said: Thanks for answers! I wonder why nobody made a plugin for it yet... And the sandbox tools are already a set of plugins. Plugins often fail more than native SU tools (for some mysterious reasons)

you have a few choices to make the actual view. set the plate-line and below as a group and hide the roof, then use the parallel view and the top view. you can use the section view to cut a downward direction section and then use the parallel view and top view. by using the section view method you'll have the option of cutting the sections through windows and doors and thus showing the detail of openings.

IMO the best free application to handle AutoCad files if you don't have AutoCad is the free DWG TrueView from Autodesk. It can open, view and print every DWG or DXF variety, and it can convert them down to older formats, even to version 10 (late 1980s), if I remember right. I think there used to be a sketchup model importer for CS3 or 4. I'm not sure if it is still being supported though.

No really need to re-import. Since SU 7.1 (I think - but maybe 7.0), when you save the file in PS (IF you edited the way I described), it will reload instantly.

That looks like the adapive degrading's boundingbox. I think I've seen that as well on occasions when it occurs. Doesn't seem to adhere to the Hide Rest of Model setting.

Suggest you go to the Microsoft Download Center and make sure you have all updates for all VC runtimes installed. The manifest for Sketchup indicates it is linked against the MSVC version 8 runtime, (perhaps called 2005. After version 6, they began referring to them generally by the release year, as it made more sense to end users.) It should not hurt to install or update other runtimes on your machine (2008, 2010, etc.)
