Were they high res textures? What happens if you paint on some of the textures included with SketchUp just as a test? Will they still disappear?

I'd guess it's about 2D (image or animation) export... Markus, have you checked out the export options (bottom right of the export window) before exporting?

Guide lines can also be deleted with Edit>Delete Guides. I use guides frequently enough that I set up a keyboard shortcut to delete them.

I can see both sides here. Likewise I find no problem myself in moving objects around to fit, or align with others using the various ref points that show up; however I have many customers who want to use sketchup, but are used to using AutoCAD or similar. In my experience snap references are biggest omission in SU world, and I struggle to change users over. They want to take my library, and insert products in precise locations easily, and perhaps with an orientation reference. Our product is very like meccano, or furniture, and could really benefit from this. I remember when I started SketchUp I had to purge my mind of most other CAD preconceptions; in here we all know that was the best move we ever made, but we have to convince the rest !

You will need to position the texture on curved surfaces. First, turn on hidden geometry under the view menu. Second, right click on a face where your texture is correctly positioned > Texture > Position... Now do nothing but press Enter. Now select the paint bucket tool and press Alt - the tool will turn into a sampler. Sample this positioned texture from the face and paint the next facet and so on. In about 10 seconds, you can easily position all the textures on a default (12 segment) arch.

Look in the 'Tools' menu for 'Angular dimension'... Not every loaded script shows an entry under the 'Plugins' menu... You can often find in which menu a tool will appear by opening its .rb file in a plain text-editor [like Notepad.exe] and looking for the menu code, which is usually near the end of the text - it's usually clear where it shows and what it's called... That's what I just did to tell you where to look...

Some apps simply 'unzip' and dump all of the zip's contents into one folder without subfolders, unless you 'extract' them when they keep their subfolder structure!

Just a quick update. PhotoSculpt doesn't like the 90 degree angle between views, but it did process a couple of them. Unfortunately, it took the cloud shadowing as the main difference in levels between the two views & has created a few hills in the flat site! I haven't tried to import the exported OBJ model into SKUP - it's 187Mb & not practical to work with. Back to the drawing board... I might try just importing the site plan into SKUP & setting one of the views as a background watermark. I might be able to align the plan with the view & work from there.

Thanks Dave that looks a lot better, what you said about the internal faces and softened edges makes sense.

GOT IT! It was a case of fixing up the perimeters and intersect faces with selection. I'm a new sketchup user learning to navigate the software so all the above will be really helpful. Thanks very much!

Jeff, you could also adjust the material transparency independently. Glad that sorted it.
