Hi Jake, I assume this is for a standalone application and not an exporter plugin into SketchUp. slapi.framework uses @rpath in its in "Installation Directory" path. So you'll need to set the "Runpath Search Paths" project setting in Xcode to the path of slapi.framework relative to your executable file location. So typically it would be something like: @loader_path/../Frameworks Assuming your app is a bundle and you placed slapi.framework under "Frameworks" directory in your bundle. I hope that helps.

I'm not sure what you mean by the position is altered but it sounds like you've got it now. Just in case, here's an anaolgy. When you make a component it's kind of like wrapping the selection in clear cling wrap. Think of a sandwich wrapped in cellophane. If you want to make a change to the sandwich you have to open the wrapper. In the same way, if you want to edit a component, you have to open its wrapper first. Now, if you have two individually wrapped sandwich components and wrap them in another piece of cling wrap, you have a nested component like the Shapes component in my example. If you want to wrap a pickle (the cylinder) up with the sandwiches, you have to take the pickle from where it is and place it inside the wrapper. In SketchUp Edit>Cut and Edit>Paste in place do that. So does grabbing the pickle and dragging it over the sandwiches in Outliner. Outliner is opening the wrapper automatically when you hover over it's name and it highlights. And of course because the wrapper containing the two sandwiches is a component all other copies of it get the pickle, too. All of this can be confusing until you have a really good picture of what's happening. Then you'll find it is all incredibly powerful.

Scan2Cad, http://www.scan2cad.com/ has been around for a long time, but its current release Release 8.3 is not cheap. It might suit some peoples needs though, & there is a free trial. It recognises and can edit text in images and supports batch processing. Its probably one of the best available bits of software for complex raster conversions out there. It's a few years (10 maybe) since I used it but I remember it as a highly competent program. As far as I remember AutoCAD Map had raster to vector functions built in, so our office switched to that on cost grounds.

If it is the plugin that Massimo points to, you really ought to watch the tutorial. You'll see it is accessed through the Plugins menu. No toolbar included, nor needed.

Was this the link that you are thinking of? http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=49686 I have the original prototype flying and I am now finishing up the second prototype with changes. Here are some photos of some of my buddies test flying the prototype in Cincinnati, Ohio. Or better than scaling up and down is make a component of the thing before scaling. Make a copy of the component, scale it up, run Round Over or whatever, close the giant version of the component and delete it. The original will have the same work done to it and still be in exactly the same place you left it.

Curviloft does not work immediately. I've tried it extensively. Only when I split faces in 3 sections could I be able to create the right meshes. The problem is curves are bottlenecking and need to follow not one but two unparallel rails. What I got with this is that the rails now have a fixed thickness, wich should be good for construction purposes. That's a tough one and made me wish for that bridge tool you got on Maya. See attached file. Best regards, JQL carparkramp.skp

TIG is right of course but With Dynamic Components you can do almost everything you want to do. Try opening the Dynamic Components toolbar, (view > toolbars > dynamic components) select the hand (interact tool) and click on the guy that shows up when you open Sketchup 2013 (Derrick). Then go activate view > hidden geometry and click with the interact tool again and see what happens. Insert some more Dynamic Components from the component browser. Insert some more DC's from the Google Warehouse. Search about DC's here or at Sketchup website. Try a lot, fail a lot and you'll succeed! Best regards, JQL

@tig said: Have you got the Units of the exported dwg and then matched them in the Imported geometry - set in the Import 'Options' sub-dialog in SketchUp ? Measure something in the imported geometry using the Tapemeasure tool and see if it's the size you expect... For example, if you have jumbled up m & mm the SKP components might be 1000x or 1/1000 of the mis-sized imported geometry - thus making you think that the components are not adding but they are either so big or so small you can't see them Also check your imported geometry's origin is set NOT to be the CAD origin [again set in Options], otherwise the imported geometry could be located many miles from [0,0,0] and thereby cause graphics glitches etc in SketchUp too... Oh snap. So that's where I went wrong. Thank you so much. I rescaled my door and it automatically rescaled the building too. You were right, the components were too small.

Exactly thomthom.. Sub-division is the right term! which we can modify parametrically without using other tools. These will work well with other organic modelling tools like artisan..
