I thought maybe not, but didn't hurt to throw it in. Haven't done much of this stuff in six years, so a little rusty, as well as being not-too-knowledgeable in the nuts & bolts area. However, I've grown to absolutely rely on SU to aid in making my living and will probably be working on a model on my deathbed.

I've had good luck with the Unwrap and Flatten Faces plugin. https://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/flatten-faces Used it just yesterday with Flowify to create the rolled up reality board in this pic: [image: untitled.194.jpg]

Thank you for the responses, Fredo6 was able to do it. Just needed to explode the curve as per the authors instructions above. Very nice little program. Regards. [image: iX3A_StretchusingFredo6.jpg]

You cannot do a followme using your vertical face, because it's a curved surface. It's various edges are not coplanar. It's easy enough to redraw it and make a single face which will work. With view > hidden geometry on you can see the faceting of your face. [image: Fw5i_Capture.PNG]

Better to learn the basics of the native method first.

@fredo6 said: I see the issue with the MDI approach (so toolbar must be independent of model window), but I don't understand why the Sketchup team did not address some of the basic issues, such as the icons for New, Open, Save, as well as the size of icons in the main toolbar, the text size in most inspectors. After all, there seems to be many Mac users around, including Pro users. Fredo We Mac users often wonder about the same things (and more). It seems that the Mac GUI has gotten very little attention compared to Windows and things like my.sketchup, starting all the way back when Google bought SketchUp and continuing through Trimble's ownership.

As srx suggests, you can draw the table top as an array of wedges or you can draw radial lines to divide the top into sectors. Hide the edges after you applied the texture. The top on this table was drawn by making a wedge-shaped sector which was then copied into a radial array. [image: 19208781128_0e5eb9e962_z.jpg]

Hi, I cant seem to get the correct name to appear on my components area. Sometimes they show a skp-name which I have not asked for, sometimes they show the name I have given. But Actually all the components I have changed the name. Also how to change by Unknown to that I want it to say? Thanks [image: e2yv_screenshot.JPG]

@laggingbehind said: I guess the reason I wanted to go down the Schema route is because if I have a drawing with 30 components I thought it would be easier than creating the attributes each time....however I stand to be corrected if I'm wrong That sounds about right if you don't need reporting directly in SketchUp. I don't know if there are extensions that provide Classification reporting for SketchUp - there is no reason there couldn't be one similar to "Generate Report" only for Classifications.

Zip the ####.rb file and then rename the ####.zip file extension to ###.rbz You can also do the reverse if you've an .rbz and need to make it an .rb If you can't see the .zip file extension then google how to make your OS display file extensions.

@bob james said: Or is this a "duh" that I've missed all these years I guess it's a "duh" moment. Start moving the selection, let go of the mouse and type [0,0,0] and hit Enter. The selection will move to the origin with point you grabbed with the Move tool located at the origin itself. [image: iAgr_move.gif]
