Not sure if this is the correct forum so feel free to direct me.

Are there any users on here of 3skeng, in particular the ductwork extension. I'm after some advice if its worth buying. From what I can gather after my 30 day trail has expired I need to but the software which is fair enough but I'll also need to buy further component libraries to make it of any use.

    • RE: Schemas

I guess the reason I wanted to go down the Schema route is because if I have a drawing with 30 components I thought it would be easier than creating the attributes each time....however I stand to be corrected if I'm wrong

Exactly. I did go thro the article before posting this thread but failed in my attempts to get a working classification... No idea what I was doing wrong but still couldn't get it to load into sketchup so hence the thread.

    • RE: Schemas

Sorry Guys been away for a couple of weeks & wasn't able to log onto the forum. The schema is to do with the classification of catering components. I'm using sketchup 15 which has the ifc3x2 classification but its far to in depth for what I need & doesn't appear to have the fields I would ideally like so looking at something much more simple. The information I think would need/want are as follows

      1. Description
      2. Size
      3. Manufacturer
      4. Model ref
      5. Electrical supply
      6. Gas supply
      7. Cold water supply
      8. Hot water supply
      9. Waste
      10. URL

Just a couple more than the original 6 in the OP.. Help would be greatly appreciated & apologises again for the delay in responding

    • Schemas

Does anybody know of anyone who writes Schemas for people.. I need a simple 6 line schema for my project work. Obviously I don't mind paying someone if it gets the job done.

    • Legends

What I do is create kitchen layout drawings. Each appliance will have a unique number & a description.... a bill of quantities so to speak. ie 01 would be a st/st bench 02 would be a open top range 03 would be a st/st bench etc etc.
What would be the best way of doing this in Sketchup Pro ot layout. Currently I use Autocad & the number is an attributed block which I then use the "data extract" command to create the legend.. The beauty of that is I can have a library of numbers which I just pull onto the drawing & edit the number bit as the description is already written. Not sure how well I explained that to be honest but hopefully someone will pick up on what I need to achieve & point me in the right direction

    • RE: What am I missing #3

Argh so I now know what I've done wrong.. When I've typed in my formulas I've typed I've referenced other components in the bench which are common to both static & mobile benches. I'm now referencing everything back to the overall size of the parent component which I'm hoping will fix my issues...Tis a learning curve indeed. Thanks for the help.

Thanks Dave. Nah I fully appreciate that's I'm at the bottom of the food chain so nothing offends me, just very grateful for the advice. If you do manage to have a look at the leg issue & offer guidance that would be most appreciated
