After erasing the weird 'rod' geometry... I guess the left-over piece of text includes an empty string or perhaps just a space ? Use the Outliner to open that Group in edit-mode. Edit > Select All. Entity Info now shows one piece of text. Press <delete>. That text is now gone. The now empty Group is also gone... Resolved.

It is possible that some plugins use pro features when available or if not available then either skips the feature or tries to obtain the objective by manually coding. The later method may or may not be completely successful. So from the users point of view the plugin potentially could work better with Pro. However this would be the exception rather than the rule.

Yes ,my resolution was set at 3840 x 2160. But after your response I changed it to 1920 x 1080 and everything is looking normal now. It was also affecting my Default Trays. Thanks for your help.

Suggestions; Didier Bur's truly excellent points cloud plugin (Cloud v8.0bxx) is excellent and well supported - get it from the plug-in store. Fredo's Toposhaper will generate surfaces from that data. If you need to do more work on it, import and preprocess in a GIS like QGIS and then export as a shapefile and import that into SU using the Spirix shapefile importer (https://sites.google.com/site/spirixcode/code/spirix_shapefile_importer.rb?attredirects=0&d=1). Ive been using QGIS to match up LIDAR generated 2m contours with imagery and align to the same CRS. Importing using the shapefile importer has required some simple scaling but gives good results.

Some of what you describe sounds to me like there may be subtle defects in the model itself. Vanishing is often an indicator that there are remote entities that affect zoom-extents operations. They might also affect printing, I suppose.

This is only true if you pick a corner of the bounding box. It defaults to uniform. Picking any other handle scales against its opposite point, unless you hold shift.

This is my video (I used a method which is suggested Tig) . It's simple - inside the component, I put another component (scaler) and the prescribed attributes. Scaler can be made invisible. scaler.skp

@pbacot said: I'd have to see the model, but did you try applying the default color to the component--to the shell, the unopened component itself? Because if yoo painted the shell magenta, you can paint the faces when editing with any color but you cannot make them the default color. So see if the shell is default or not. Your image says entity info is telling you that the "face" is default, but it isn't showing default. What does entity information telling you about the component itself (not the faces inside). hi.. thank you for your advice. I followed your instruction and i got back my default colour to all components. as I did with pasting colour to the component without going in the edit component, i shouldve done the same to get the default colour.. thank you so much. save my half day of changing all the colours! thanks to all sirs above too!

@jql said: That won't have a very firm grip as it will twist upon the joint's axis. You should have at least 2 pins per joint... It also seems very prone to detach from each other. Maybe you now should model from what Mitch gave you. Thanks, I will. I'm also going to use super glue to reinforce it.

Yep, we've all been there and it is painful. Usually this happens with imports from AutoCAD. I usually run ThomThom's Flatten script in his Architect Tools set, just to make sure everything is on Z=0. Then I use S4U's Make Face script. Most of the time this works, but you might need to find little unconnected gaps, in this case, try ThomThom's Edge Tools.

Unfortunately this is more like a speed drawing demonstration than a tutorial. It doesn't really teach anyone how to do what you are doing.

I sped watched one of the other tutorials. You obviously have a firm grasp of using SketchUp and Extensions. My only suggestion would be the pay attention the segment number on curves, arcs and circles. In some instances you are creating denese geometry for no gain. Bezier Spline is a great tool but using 20 segments on a curve is overboard is places.

Pres, I always resize them, usually to 2000 pix wide, I do this to get rid of the jaggies. But I'll play around with your suggestions about the line weight! I've never messed around with the depth cue before so I'll give that a try too. Thanks for that advice!
