Because if yoo painted the shell magenta, you can paint the faces when editing with any color but you cannot make them the default color. So see if the shell is default or not.

Your image says entity info is telling you that the "face" is default, but it isn't showing default. What does entity information telling you about the component itself (not the faces inside).

hi.. thank you for your advice. I followed your instruction and i got back my default colour to all components. as I did with pasting colour to the component without going in the edit component, i shouldve done the same to get the default colour.. thank you so much. save my half day of changing all the colours!

as I mentioned above, the default colour for whole model is white and grey the whole time I've never changed it. but when it comes to this component, eventhough the default colour is white and grey in styles, it's still magenta in component and when I checked the face in that component, the colour is set to default (as graphically the white and grey default) but on the face it is magenta. Please look at the image I attached..

I'm not new to sketchup. I've been using it for architecture modelling 5 years now basically I could handle it quite well. I have a problem where:

in one model, there are 2 different default colours, I cant tell whether it only happens to components, or to group as well.

I've checked the faces of the component in entity info, eventhough both faces are on default colour, it doesn't follow the default colour set up in style.

eg: default colour sets in the style is white and grey, but in component default colour is magenta but it is labeled as default.

so whenever I make face in the component, it appears magenta. I realised i tried a lot of colours before i settled with magenta before i got into the components so it basically change the whole default colour in component to magenta. as time goes, made a lot of other works, I couldn't change the magenta colour in the component to the default as in style setting the white and grey.

how to neutralise my default colour to just white and grey in both whole model and components? coz I will have trouble when doing material in lumion.
