I agree with @cotty that you are most likely thinking of backup .skb files, because on the face of it this seems like a silly question. Once you are comfortable that your .skp file is finished and you have made a copy somewhere in case of a computer crash, there is no need to keep the .skb backup files around. They are created so that all is not lost if you make a mistake or have a SketchUp crash while editing.

Hi Rich I use Thea. I'm not too worried. I've just deleted those two sets. Just bought and downloaded the 'Cyber Monday' Set as well, and the same problem occurs with the 'Wood' Set in that. Kind regards Mike

It will take an identical to what I am using material and name it the same name plus 1. This happened before I used extensions also. I was using Translucent Glass Sky Reflection. Went to lunch and now there is a new one called [Translucent Glass Sky Reflection]1. When I delete it 6 windows are effected but copies of that same group are not. When I fixed it before, it was all copies of that group because I had not noticed it before I stared copying it. Now after fixing it once there are 6 with the new material.

Thanks for your replies, I am on windows, so perhaps the mac version is ok I think something is amiss here. [image: 5bHV_Shadowsettings2.png] So for me, London would the best option, not sure how to change this setting, or even if this will correct the issue I am seeing. very odd! EDIT ok! I see now! You have to add a geolocation map to the file to reset the shadow settings. Once done it seems to correct the issue I was seeing. Many thanks

Dave R, Thank you for the clarification of the “-0” file. This has been a new issues for me since moving to 2018 version. I hope they fix it soon its annoying, so I need to now throw out the original file and remove the “-0” file to get back the original name? Its like the message “Not responding” instead of something like “this program is work on it’” and seeing a little hour glass spin around and round on my screen…that way I know it’s doing something other than crashing. sketch3d.de, You are right, this should have been a new thread. I’m just frustrated that I can’t install what I have purchased and have it work,( like it use to be) without having to figure out that things have changed and I should just know about them, like picking running as an administrator (when did that happen?). But that another topic too. sorry just venting...

On the rare occasions that logging out and in doesn't fix it. Go to the Extension Warehouse in a browser and download the offending plugins and manually install them with the Extension Manager. If after doing all that they don't update properly in the future there must be some clash with your Internet connection.

with SketchUp Pro 2018 a workaround for testing purposes is available. or, without any plugin, you can create the rectangle, group the upper face (select it from top left hand corner while beeing in parallel side view, just like srx's gif), select all then "instersect with selection", select all again and double click on the surface you want to keep holding shift and press delete. (you can then explode the group - optional) not that long even if it seems so ! and beware, some of your small circles appear not to be at the same height than the others
