      Shadow settings menu

I am seeing a disparity in the shadow settings.

      Shadow tool bar

The times below the slider bar are not the same.

      Anyone else seeing this?

I’d say that the % the slider is across the width of the 2 scales is the same but that the letters (JFMA etc) are not lining up properly. Do you have scaling turned on in Windows 10 display settings?
Windows 10 display scaling recently gave me no end of grief recently after a driver update, I had to install a custom set just to get around what MS/AMD though was best.

English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark allies, knocks them over, and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.

It looks like your numbers in the window are squeezed so that all the text is not showing. 11:59 looks like 1:59 Can you expand the window?

I can't comment fully because your setup doesn't look the same as mine, and I am questioning what these numbers actually mean.

In my (Mac 2016) the shadow window numbers are always the same for a date. I always assumed they represent sunrise and sunset. How is it that sunrise could be 12:00 am at UTC-1:00? I don't know, but that's what mine says as well (but the word "noon" isn't there) if I change only the UTC... Perhaps it is better to geolocate your model first.

I am guessing there are a couple things that Trimble isn't saying. One--"the default geo-location (and shadow settings) are for Boulder Colorado" Two "the numbers represent sunrise and sunset in the shadow window". Three "changing the UTC without geo-locating the model is useless." Just guessing. I looked but the Help page on the shadow window was not helpful.

Also for my toolbar slider these numbers represent date and time, so it doesn't look like yours at all.

Ah. I thought so... If you look under "Viewing your Model in Google Earth" (SIC) in the
"Knowledge Center" (SIC) You will find:

Note: Your default location depends on the language associated with SketchUp. For example, if you downloaded the American English version of SketchUp, SketchUp’s default location is Boulder, Colorado. Other default locations include London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Tokyo, Barcelona, Taipei, Brasilia, Seoul, Beijing, Moscow, and Amsterdam.

              Thanks for your replies,

I am on windows, so perhaps the mac version is ok

I think something is amiss here.

              shadow settings amiss

So for me, London would the best option, not sure how to change this setting, or even if this will correct the issue I am seeing. very odd!

              EDIT
ok! I see now! 👍 You have to add a geolocation map to the file to reset the shadow settings. Once done it seems to correct the issue I was seeing.

              Many thanks
