Hi Box thanks so much! I had breakthrough, what I was doing was trying to modify your model for practice and was drawing lines in "free air" such a newbie mistake . Then I realised that starting with a box and modifying faces and edges is the way to go. Have attached a rough render. Need to work out how to do seems, tufts and other real world imperfections as well as getting around materials. [image: hne1_Roughchair3.png]

Hi there, Well it's been a while. Did you find a workaround in SketchUp to gather data from the Leica 910? I tried this years ago but without succes.

Please explain the steps [all of them] which you took [unsuccessfully]... e.g. Download[RBZ?]/Install-using.../ etc Note that if you didn't install SketchUp properly it can lead to weird issues - perhaps yours ? To try and fix that... Close SketchUp. Find its installer exe file - probably in your Downloads folder ? Select the exe file. Right-click > Context-menu > "Run as administrator" When prompted choose "Repair" [If it's a fresh installation choose "Install"] Restart SketchUp, and test... If it's still flaky, then you can try to repeat the above steps, but this time choose "Uninstall". Then immediately repeat the steps and choose "Install". Restart, retest. Installing SketchUp in any other way can cause unpredictable problems. Never double-click an installer's exe file, or choose to "Run" it. Even if you [as the day-to-day user] have 'admin' powers it is not the same as using the "Run as administrator" tool... Also, when installing any application, never choose to login as the system's administrator [ as apposed to a user-who-has-admin-powers, which is OK ! ]

Okay, here's a new model. I was having issues with it yesterday that caused me to finally reach out and bother you. I spent the last couple of hours working with no issues, but finally ran into some. Like I said, this does not seem to be specific to any model, nor is is consistent within any model. I was finally able to replicate the issue and noticed that it does seem to happen when I am trying to move copy a single line from an edge within a face. I'm not sure now that you will be able to see anything as it took me a couple of hours to recreate, whitecoat syndrome I guess... I use alt because it is the same as the option key on my computer. @hornoxx said: like Dave said - it's not easy. I gave it a try and got it closer to the photo template - One tip is: the longer you make your adjustment lines, the more accurate you can adjust photomatch I'll give it a try, I have a good amount of photo material I can use, thank sou much for helping!

The worktop and backboard are already in place in my van The idea was to make cabinets, but make every panel/ piece an individual component to be able to extract to a cutting guide later on. I'm going to study the video and probably start again. Thanks for the help.

What resolution are you rendering in? I render mine to 4096x2048 then take it into adobe premier cc 2017 and start a new sequence VR 4096X2048 Ambisonics. Add the image into the sequence (you can even view VR by right click on the image and VR). Then export as H.264 and upload to Youtube. See example of mine below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay33ngqmqEk Effects are completed in after effects. Let me know if you have any problems.

open the component, select the raw geometry and make another component, set its axis in the direction you require, close the nested component that holds the geometry is the one you will rotate. If you want to rotate in another direction as well, then you would nest it again so that the rotations are independent

Using layers to hide 'raw' geometry doesn't separate it from the still-visible geometry. SketchUp is not CAD. ALL SketchUp geometry should ALWAYS be assigned to Layer0 [which should almost always be the current layer]. Always make 'containers' - groups/component-instances - of your bits of related geometry, and assign layers to those. Then use those layers to control visibility... I repeat: layers do not separate geometry, they simply 'hide' it when 'off'.

With the variation of hardware and software there is no way any program will have 100% success. There will always be combinations that fail. Add to that different folks making personalisations in any number of settings and I am surprised the results are as good as they are.
