2018 - The most unstable version I have ever used.

As well as driver checks, fresh-extensions etc, always install complex applications [like SketchUp] in the correct way...
Windows...
Close SketchUp if it's open...
Find its installer exe file [probably in your Downloads folder].
Select its icon and right-click > context-menu >
"Run as administrator".
When prompted choose "Repair".
[with a fresh install choose "Install"]This is the only correct way - double-clicking its installer's icon, or choosing to 'Run' it, is NOT sufficient.
Even if you have admin powers the installation will not be exactly the same, and can lead to all manner of unpredictable subtle weirdness - including random crashes, missing shortcuts etc... -
I'm finding SU2018 to be more stable and faster than previous versions. I did install it correctly and I didn't copy any extensions/plugins from previous versions. I downloaded them fresh from their sources.

I haven't had a single problem with it yet.
-
I did install all plugins fresh and installed on a brand new workstation so there are no registry issues. I guess it could be plugin related. I will try what TIG suggested since he is probably one of the top authorities in all things SU - Thanks all!

Are you guys mostly on Mac or PC?

Either way, 2018 is stable on both platforms.

I've got SU2018 installed on both platforms. No stability problems with either.
-
Stable here too.

I have lots of crashes with geometry (partly)imported from revit (via dwg format). In addition, those skp files fail to autosave. Programs produces series of .tmp files which I can't recover. Today I lost 2 hours of hard work.

With the variation of hardware and software there is no way any program will have 100% success. There will always be combinations that fail. Add to that different folks making personalisations in any number of settings and I am surprised the results are as good as they are.
