You can definitely try what njay suggested, but it would help the community to know what version of Vray you are using as there have been bugs in earlier editions that have since been fixed.

If you match your viewport ration in V-Ray, then what you see in SU will always be what comes out of V-Ray. If you want to customize the ratio, for example, you what a true 16:9 proportion, then you can use ThomThoms V-Ray Toys plugin. http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15491

Hi, Could you share the file? I'd be interested to see how you are going about creating the elevation. What I think may be happening is the exported 1:200 elevation have a different resolution than the rendering. Have you tried just exporting the un-scaled scene from SketchUp at the same pixel resolution as the rendering and composite those two? Then you can re-scale the rendered elevation in Photoshop based on the 1:200 elevation you've already exported. I think SketchUp takes some liberty when it exports a scaled drawing so there may be some discrepancy between the scaled view and the rendered view. Let me know what you come up with, and I'd love to see the final result. But again, if you still have trouble with it, post the scene here or send it to me directly, and I can give you some more direction on how to best solve this.

i figured setting the transparency value of the diffuse to 0 use a bitmap for the mask effect. it works. yea, i think the 2 sided material will make the material even better. thanks for the help [image: KJHY_ScreenShot2014-04-26at11.16.18pm.png]

2 pt views are not able to render in VR Make sure to go to your options - output - image aspect ratio - click get view aspect If it's a parallel (elevation) view this is only supported in 2.0 SketchUp sections are not supported in VR (use a plugin like Zorro)

@valerostudio said: In VR 2.0 there is a pack scene feature. This copies all the files (HDRI, maps, IES, etc) into a ZIP file. Its located in the V-Ray menu. Yep found it! its under Plugins- Vray - Pack Scene... Great - makes life much easier.

There have been other reported issues with vfs.rb : http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15%26amp;t=41055 Have you checked these issues too ? The error you show is because it is trying to find the 'entityID' of a reference that points at 'nil', rather than at a valid SketchUp entity Does this occur when SketchUp starts or when you try to use the script ? To get a fuller error type: load 'vfs.rb' in the Ruby Console and post the error messages - if any...

That sounds like an old old bug from 1.49.01 I think. The best way to avoid this is to upgrade to 2.0 where a million bug fixes and improvements have been made.

I think this is a really good start. I think to get more realism you need two things, better materials and more modelling. For example, what is the blue material supposed to be? Will the owner of the house really want a Blue house like that, does the material have any kind of texture to it? reflection? Secondly, it looks as if this is more of a massing model. When trying to create a realistic rendering you need to think in more realistic terms. How would the soffit inside your overhang attach to the walls, is there any trim around the fascia, walls etc. It almost needs to get to the point where you model it as if you were building it for real (almost). And finally, if you look at 90% of the best realistic renderings out there I would say that 60% of it is modeling/rendering and 40% is post processing in Photoshop. But yeah, very good start, just start looking around you at different building materials and see the texture, reflection, refraction, gloss, and connections to other materials. And then create you own Vray Materials to match it or model it in sketchup. Hope this helps, Rob
