I've figured it out, thanks everyone for the help. In Fryrender I can achieve single glass by using the ghost glass as cadmunkey mentioned. To change the colour of the glass I used layers, it seems everything not basic in fryrender is achieved with layers. If there is such a thing in Indigo I am guessing that is how it would be done as well.

@solo said:  Is that a Vue render? wait...is that a render? nope it's not a VUE render, if i'm not mistaken it's a 3DS max render and yes it's most definitely is a render, a very incredible render in a mater of fact you can visit Daniel's site here the thing is, i have seen lawns (grass) rendered like this not only on the net, but have seen a couple of your own render i think with incredible outcome from VUE... so if you have anything resembling that, i would really appreciate it, or even a small tutorial on how to make a lawn on terrain

@xrok1 said: nice, i like it but one would have to see an interface and test it with different renderers before a value could be determined. So far I've lived a renderer-free life. For your needs, SketchUp's rendering is inadequate? May I ask why?

Another option is to use a blend texture. That's what we would set up automatically in our old version. This unfortunately caused some undesirable results in some situations though, so it wasn't added in this version. SketchUp's colorization method is rather unique, as far as I know. You have to edit texture images in an image editor for any other 3d app or render engine I've ever used. ::shrugs:: maybe I'm oldschool.

Thanks for posts. I try to make a model of actual vegetation. It means, that I import a photo of terrain into sketchup, project it onto terrain made of contour lines and where I see a "green spot", there is a tree. So I placed a component onto the terrain on these spots and I would like to replace them with trees in Vue. Ii is truth, I could make the same direct in Vue.

@unknownuser said: I believe Vray should take a page from the Modo rendering engine. Allow the user to select a small window of his or her scene for a quick developed rendering of that particular area. This way you don't have to wait 2 hours for a fully developed scene of a caustic effect, which ultimately turns out to be total CRAP. LOL! Good research.

No, you can just update by reimporting parts of the SU model. Even texturemapping and assignments are kept while importing. Its actually very simple and fast. I just came to work like this since the current SU plugin for Maxwell was not functional anymore with the new v2 of Maxwell. So I had to work with Studio which so far I had avoided as much as possible. But forced to work from Studio I slowly came to the conclusion that Studiois a very powerful app to use in combination with Sketchup. Sketchup is bad with big models which is something Studio is very good at. Francois

Did you notice the related video on the page at right? Some kind of arrangement involving an array of cameras, reference dots on the fingers and a car sponge for a model proxy. A bit involved. As for the SCULPTOR hand held device, I would imagine that fatigue would set in, if not "tennis elbow", which I seem to have now in my right arm due to "mouse stress". I am sure the developer will come up with a solution.

There has been cases where a bitmap texture has been corrupted and caused problems. It could be that you have one of these trouble textures in your model. No quick and easy way to find it, other than removing one by one. Or you could resave them all into another format.

I downloaded the Lithonia catalog of IES light data. http://www.lithonia.com/Photometrics.aspx It worked on the new Vray beta, I had to crank up the power to 1,000,000. I also created a little test file with each Vray Light in its own scene, I can attach a copy if anyone is interested. [image: VCQX_testscene.png]
