Vray problem (not the new vray)
-
Hi guys here's a problem i face.
Here's the red and the beighe teture in the sketchup model. Both textures are named 'MAG RESEARCH CENTER 2' -
VfSU doesn't play nice when you re-colour textures within SU.
Best is to use the original unadjusted texture in SU. And instead adjust the textures in PhotoShop or similar if needed. That means creating a new file for your re-coloured texture.

I think i understand what you are saying, but could you please explain this one better to me, cause i'm new to photoshop.

Image -> Adjustments
Lots of different ways to adjust the texture there.
I'd think you can get a lot done with Hue Saturation adjustments. -
I exported the texture as a jpeg file, renamed it and then put it again in sketchup, then it worked. But it's a pain in the as_.
Any easier way except this and the photoshop? -

When you change the colour/tone of a texture in SketchUp it does not alter the original source. The texture VfSU is getting is the original so it must try to emulate what SU does. ...which VfSU isn't doing very well...

If i do the photoshop way, will i have to do it every time i use the same texture in a different color in the model?
Will i have to save somewhere every time the new texture image file?
Will i have to rename the image file every time i make the changes, in the new image file? -
Basicly: never re-color a texture in SketchUp.
Every time you have a texture you want to adjust colour/tone - adjust it in Photoshop or similar. -
Thanks Thomas!

Another option is to use a blend texture. That's what we would set up automatically in our old version. This unfortunately caused some undesirable results in some situations though, so it wasn't added in this version. SketchUp's colorization method is rather unique, as far as I know. You have to edit texture images in an image editor for any other 3d app or render engine I've ever used. ::shrugs:: maybe I'm oldschool.
