Make it a component and save it to a component collection, then select and place it from the component panel whenever you need it.

Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

OK, on the trial version page, the 9th one of the curved deck should be http://woodsshop.com/documents/Rosen3D.pdf the 11th of the Teahouse http://www.woodsshop.com/Japanese/Tea%20House%20Plans/Teahouse_Plans.pdf the Tea House 2 http://woodsshop.com/documents/Chashitsu_Plans.pdf

You can also adjust the camera field of view down to say 1 or some very low number. Essentially staying in perspective view but getting closer and closer to orthographic projection.

Werdj When exporting from Poser use the .3ds option. You will get a hierarchy selection option were you can eliminate unneeded meshes, start with ground then work down removing any mesh that is not required like tongue, teeth, body parts that are covered by clothing mesh, etc. Select yes when prompted to export object groups. On importing make sure your units are the same as your Poser units (I am set on inches in SU and it works out just fine) SU will not import textures from Poser, however it will import texture colors that you can select and map your textures to. Use Poser models sparingly as they are rather heavy in the poly’s and too many of them will slow you down to a trickle, exploding them will take time and every now and again cause bugsplats.

Are you drawing inside a group? Try drawing outside it . . . .

Hi guys, although we have gone a bit OT, it's a nice curve. So never forget that after all we are on the SketchUcation site so see Wodan's tip a bit expanded here. Ans certainly Paul's idea about the shorcuts is a very useful one since then you need not keep openin/closing that dialogue.

@cyberdactyl said: I would like to see more flexibility with scene making. Buying out Indigo might be a lot cheaper. . . Yeah right, we've all got massive powerful machines and a day to wait for a decent render [Edit: I vote for 'proper' texture mapping, more speed, higher poly count support, fix the damn clipping bug, make the Mac version work as well as the PC version, parametric components, ability to make sections exportable (and renderable) with added cut faces and better modelling of complex curved surfaces. It would also be nice if LayOut was completely overhauled to look and feel like SU, as well as made to work even half decently]

I don't know exactly, but you mentioned cutting out MDF board. why not export a dxf and import the dxf in your cnc cad program ? Or maybe if the building is solid, use the ruby slicer, so you've got the building in thin piece's and export these with ADO ? and import these in the cnc-programming software. what kind of cnc-machine are you talking about (how many axes ?)

Thanks for the reply....gave me another idea...DWG viewer. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=6703438&siteID=123112 Import dwg into SU, then use the viewer to see what is missing. Glenn downloaded, installed, looks like it will do the trick. I just need to see the notes in the dwg file about materials, etc.

I believe the component window will do what you want - just click on "in model" to see all components in your model. Click on the details menu and you'll see options for saving them.
