3d Text font problem

Hi All,
Has anyone had the issue of not being able to select different fonts using the 3d text tool?
if so are there any workarounds? perhaps using ruby script?

Hi Rupert,
You should be able to select fonts that are installed on your computer. If you cannot, there must be something wrong with SU on your machine I believe (though it may be caused some other glitch).

As far as I know...on a Windows machine, at least..The Text tool will only work with True Type and Open Type (TTF & OTF). It will not accept Adobe Type 1 fonts.

We're having a similar problem. I've just installed 2 new fonts (.OTF) but although they are available in other software, like Word, Sketchup doesn't display them in the 3D Text dialogue. Is there any way to fix this?
