    Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

    Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

    @bbergem @Dave-R Hello everyone, I'm working on a hotel project in which I want to develop anamorphic views based on images and models/objects. For the objects, I don't have any complexities, so it's up to me to divide them up into multi-objects and position them to create an illusion effect as far as the real thing, depending on the angle of view. On the basis of images, importing them in projected form works but is nevertheless complex and sometimes difficult to implement. I haven't been able to find a plugin that allows anamorphic projection of an image onto surfaces depending on the viewing angle, am I wrong? Would there be a solution for simply making these projections, a bit like what blender offers? https://youtu.be/BgbLXqqaHEI?si=NUWdJPZY2sE55qvg Help would be greatly appreciated and ideally the development of a dedicated plugin for even more solutions with Sketchup.     Hi everyone, it took several years, but I figured it out! It's one of the most hidden features in SketchUp. If you want to export an image, draw on it with crayons or edit it in Photoshop ...or AI and then map it back, you must activate a scene with a saved camera and then click to create a new photomerge -> the vanishing points will be set according to the last scene. Then you can select the edited visualization and project it precisely onto the model as a texture. Amazing, right? It never works otherwise if a saved camera isn't activated first. The second hidden trick is equally clever. Did you think that exporting 2D DWG with edges colored by layers only works through layout? Miracle, it works in the sketchup too. Just set edges color by material and have Color by Tag activated in layers/tags, then create a Scene with saved Styles (+update the scene to save the style), keep the scene active and export 2D DWG. Aaand is colored. If the style isn't saved in the active scene, it won't work. Ns.

It eased all my pain that I've experienced through out the tough years passed struggling with random triangles.

    @dmorong The Add Location feature is not included with the EDU license (SketchUp Studio for Non-Profits) the school has. It requires a full subscription (Pro or Studio but not for Non-Profits.) Contact Creation Engine for more information on this. https://shop.creationengine.com/

    There is something in the way that prevents pushpull from going inward. Try selecting the face and using move instead.

    @Dave-R I've tried to unsoften the edges to 0 degrees but the problem is still there. [image: 1729718131520-screen-shot-2024-10-24-at-8.14.01-am.png] The drawing will be sent to a machinist, If I can figure out a way to unsoften the edges, then I will add measurements and send it to him.

    @mcann if those are spot heights you will need to get them into sketchup as construction points. Then use a cpoint to mesh extension to generate a surface. But I'm not fully understanding your message.

    @pace514 Go to the In Model Colors and select the material to edit it. (Click on the house icon.) You can't directly edit materials that are in the material libraries. You can only edit the In Model materials.

Thanks Rich, I never thought of assigning front face to back...despite using it all the time in other situations.. It does look slightly better, but as you say, there's a performance hit so I'm not sure it would be worth it if there were several high-poly veggies in the scene.

    Tnx Rich, as using Thea for rendering then just (for testing) made really simple model of tree trunk as Instance base & used "ring" model as instance & basically that's it. Probably have to play with thickness of instances & have to create a better base model to get the proper shape of tree but otherwise does the job good enough. My Q was pretty much for the interest if there's an easy way to do it in SU with any kind of plugins & from the point of getting smarter in SU. You're never too smart in SU, are you?
