@Rich-O-Brien Thanks Rich. Now I know that I can share the link with Fredo6 on the Animator thread so he can download the file and look at it (to hopefully identify the problem I have been having trying to generate a video). You might also try generating an Animator video and see what results you get.

Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

you can use BezierSpline by Fredo.. http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=13563 (and it has a whole lot of functions besides doing things like this so it might be confusing at first.. post if you have any questions about using it) [image: pveO_untitled.jpg]

@unknownuser said: Did you mean Windows Recent files, or SketchUp recent files? SketchUp stores its recent files in the Registry: Sketchup files. Ok, about the Registry. Yikes. I don't think I'm that computer tech oriented to go into the Registry. Sounds scary. Oh well, I guess I'll have to maintain a list by hand, like in notepad or something. I work on so many projects, going back to one from last week is difficult to remember I was working on it. Old age memory sucks. But thanks. I appreciate the info anyway.

hm... I cannot see why this should be happening at all. But I'm inclined to just remove the break_edges references all together.

Because of the issue I added an extra step near the end of my ImageTrimmer tool. The PNG Image initially needs transparency to work out what;s to be cut off the shape. But then you have a component face with a material using the PNG as a texture that won't receive shadows SO you are then asked if you want to 'flatten' to texture image so it works [like a JPG], rather than the transparent PNG ! Answering 'yes' fixes it [it's automatically made anyway and is discarded if you decide not to use it!]

I use Podium V2 all the time and in terms so speed, ease of use and output quality I think it leads the field. I have a license for Shaderlight and have put quite a bit of time into trying it, but it seems for interior renders, which is primarily what I do, it is very hard to get rid of the noise in the render without taking out a ceiling or walls. I am sure it is doable, but it has not proved easy or intuitive. The improvements in v2 vs v1 are signifiant, far fewer artifacts and hotspots, bump maps are easy to apply, you have spotlights, point lights, and light emitting materials to work with. I have gotten so I can light, adjust textures and render a good quality render in about 3 hours.

TIG's plugin makes quick work of it but it can be done manually and it is useful to know how. I use this same method for complex turnings to help keep file size down. Splitting it as I do also makes it possible to hide the seam lines. [image: 5190512797_5e0876427d.jpg] Start with a circle instead of an arc. Split the circle at the midpoints of sides to create the arc of the desired angle. In the example above I split out an arc of 45° but if you use a 90° arc, the half-segments at the end will be at 90° from each other. To make it easy I drag out the circle on axis and then rotate it half the angle between vertices. So if a 24 sided circle is used, rotate it 7.5°.

Thanks Tig, I was thinking about this item last night, you know you work at something for so long a time, then your mind goes to mush, and you can't think about it anymore. All that is needed is someone with a different approach, to add input. I originally wanted to use glass panels below the handrails, or between the top and bottom rails that make up the railing system. I will post a sideview later, so you all can se what I want to do.

Yeah, that's also what I am suspecting. And that's why looking into the file itself would be good.

DavidH Right hemispahere has a a product that works within MS Office. Deep View AKA SAP Visual Enterprise Viewer Complete Best, Charlie EDIT: Just discovered that the ability to generate 3D .pdf from MS Office Word & PP has been dropped in Deep View V7.0. Though it is not obvious anywhere on the Right Hemisphere web pages....actually to the contrary .......sigh. Apologies to those that played. Best, Charlie

@tfdesign said: @unknownuser said: I'd do the CPU upgrade. That'll help with both SU and rendering so it's money well spent. I'd pass on the GPU upgrade. I don't think you'll see any difference at all unless she's also interesting in playing Skyrim on that PC. That doesn't make any sense, because you can't 'just upgrade' the CPU and not the GPU on a Mac. You do both at the same time. I think you've misunderstood the original poster (or perhaps I have?). We're not talking about upgrading an existing computer. He's buying a new mac and asking which of the 3 upgrade options he should get. I've never gone through the mac buying process, but I don't get the impression from his question that it's an all or nothing thing in this case. -Brodie
