V8.0 is released https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=2Dtools Or via the ExtensionStore dialog. It fixes a glitch with v2026 whereby some MAC users could not get the TAB key press/up to work to open dialogs in some tools, and some PC users had to press/up 4 times to make TAB work. But <=2025 users had no issues. I've now improved the onKeyUp methods to optimize TAB use in v2026, but it can still be flaky for some users. including me needing 4x press/up! So as an additional option I've added one press/up on the Shift key which will also open the dialogs, in certain tools like LineStyle and Hatching. The Help pages explain this dialog opening more fully. Please try and report back issues...

Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

Not being smart but only Google SU have that knowledge. They don't announce any roadmap so you won't find possible release dates anywhere. I'm fairly sure not even beta testers have that knowledge. Since we've just gotten M2 I imagine v9 is a bit of a wait. Always nice to have something to look forward to.

hi john2, I'm not sure I'm understanding what your having issues with, but if you want to re-use the same profile somewhere else. click into your group [edit mode] >> 'select' the profile face >> 'copy' >> click outside group >> 'paste in place' >> 'make [new] group >> move it to new location >> copy paste the path into the 'new profile group' >> use 'follow me' not sure if you follow me... john

Hi folks. After seeing the kind of model that you make, no wonder that SU is brought to a crawl. I would suggest that you model all those cables and knobs using as few segments as possible for the circles and arcs. Refrain from using the default values of 24 segments for circles and 12 segments for arcs. Combining these with the Follow me tool will create a lot of facets in very little time. Click in succession on the scenes tabs of the attached SU file for ideas. File size dependent on segmentation.skp

I do not think TIG's plugin would be needed here. It's only needed when there is some complex, textured 2D geometry to be draped. What you do with a single image is actually not draping but projecting (this may sound hair splitting but knowing the correct terms can also let you find answers in the help documentation easier, too). First of all, how large is that jpg image? SU (even enabling max. texture size) will only display 2048x2048 pixel images (and half of that by default). Would scaling the image (if it is very large) stop crashing?

The lowest cost 3D solid modeler I have found that works well with SketchUp is Alibre. They have a hobby version for $200. I have used the pro version for years doing product design and found it to work well.

you can use BezierSpline by Fredo.. http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=13563 (and it has a whole lot of functions besides doing things like this so it might be confusing at first.. post if you have any questions about using it) [image: pveO_untitled.jpg]

@unknownuser said: Did you mean Windows Recent files, or SketchUp recent files? SketchUp stores its recent files in the Registry: Sketchup files. Ok, about the Registry. Yikes. I don't think I'm that computer tech oriented to go into the Registry. Sounds scary. Oh well, I guess I'll have to maintain a list by hand, like in notepad or something. I work on so many projects, going back to one from last week is difficult to remember I was working on it. Old age memory sucks. But thanks. I appreciate the info anyway.
