Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

There's nothing wrong with 6000 pixel-wide image exports. That's often what I do. As for setting the text correctly, you'll need to experiment a little to get the size you want in the image export. I don't know what size you should set because I don't know how big you want the text to appear. There is no way to set lineweight in SketchUp. There never has been. You can do that in LayOut, though and you can use Hybrid rendering so the lines in LayOut are vector lines and will generally be crisper in the exports. (Keep in mind that edges and text will become rasterized in image exports. If you export a PDF from LayOut that won't happen.) And if you use LayOut's Text, Label, and Dimension tools, you can set font size, lineweight for leaders and dimension lines and other properties to get what you want. You'll also be looking at paper space in LayOut so you can easily compare the size of the text with the overall dimensions of the exported image.

Dave Thanks. Well, I found the problem. The screen was not maximized to the fullest. It looked like it filled the total screen area, but When I made the screen smaller, it still behaved the same way. I went to ver 2020, made the screen smaller and it incorrectly behaved like version 2021. Then I made the screen full screen in 2020, and it behaved correctly. Went to 2021. Made the screen smaller than full scale. And now it works. Again, thanks for the help.

@dave r said: It's not uncommon for third party extension and application makers to update their products for a new version of software. It's different when all of that stuff comes from in house because it is typically all updated before the release. For future updates you might consider waiting a couple of weeks to allow those third parties to test and issue their updates. FWIW, if you haven't already done so, you should install the SCF Extension (go to Resources at the top of the forum page and click on Plugin Store Download, download the extension and install it via Install Extension in the Extension Manager.) Then use it to install extensions that you get from Sketchucation. It will help you ensure you have the most recent versions of your extensions installed and it'll keep a list (bundle) of those extensions so you can install them automatically if you move to a new computer or when you update to the next version of SketchUp. thanks for the quick reply. that's what i love about SU, so many little nice surprises and plugins that help alot.

CURIC 2021 compatible plugins were just released this morning. (edit: nevermind - i just installed and they are not working....all kinds of load errors) (edited edit: I emailed Curic the errors and updated package was promptly uploaded. All good now. Tag folders - I have been dying for this feature for a while...now if they could just switch the name 'tag' back to 'layer'.... As far as the new logos.....see pic below... [image: kNxh_c4d.jpg]

Hello, is it possible to use sets like in this video? Please start at 0:40 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpN97x4mgAA&feature=emb_logo In Cinema4d you can combine any icon (not only Sketchup's own functions) into pallets and save them as layouts. The handling of Plugin-Sets and Extension-Sets is not quite clear to me yet. Thanks a lot and stay healthy.

Yeah, I had the same thing, wanted to run 2021 in trial mode until I felt comfortable with it, but couldn't (it may be the classic ID10T problem?) so ended up upgrading my 2020 perpetual license to 2021 perpetual, so I guess I'm stuck with 2021 whether I like it or not.

Because it's one of Fredo's tools you also need to download/install his LibFredo... Restart SketchUp afterwards to sync things...

@pbacot said: I assign the light components (the rendering object that defines the light -- not the model of the fixture) to a separate layer. For day scenes that layer would be hidden. It's not entirely interactive, as for live rendering or video. Something like that would be special feature of the rendering software, I think. Maybe TwinMotion does this? Hi pbacot, Thank you for your reply, I checked about twinmotion, looks like this the answer of my question, I will download and try it, if they have a free version or trial version

Different ways for a similar result...a hole on a volume. And you can of course move the hole realised along the volume (not shown here) [image: WHB0_GIF_holoop.gif]

@Last is gone and the new owners view Sketchup just as a business. The discount deal to subscribe is pretty good if the new features are really needed but you will be just a subscriber and with no feedback option like in the beginning. IMO If your most current SU does the job just keep your perpetual or free license and then you can use all your favorite plugins as well. There is no way to be certain that the subscription versions will support your plugins in any case. Even SU 8 with all the super plugins that there are is very powerful and complete for most modeling. Sketchup in the beginning was and still is the best conceptual modeling program that one could hope for but is not a Cad program and Layout is not either. For Cad and production drawings Give Turbocad Deluxe a look. It is very configurable and icons for all functions with user definable keystrokes too. It has Model space/Paper space/xref and underlay PDF features. Also will import/export Sketchup/Acad/Dxf/Stl and more. Very affordable too. Sketchup 2018 is a good stopping point as even old legacy plugins and all of my favorites still work properly. dtrarch
