Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Examples of camera simulations with MSphysics can be found here: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=68975 You can connect a target object with the same polyline/curve (Curvy Piston) in front of the camera object to get a parallel view.

Yes, there is no automatic way for it in SU. Maybe Thom needs more good suggestions for new tools in QFace/SubD workflow. I find Blender easier for this type of modeling but I will not quit on QFace/SubD workflow yet. I think there is room and will on Thom side to add more tools to ease things out when modeling with QFace/SubD way, we just need to present them to him.

@jgb said: Whenever I draw a line that is just slightly off (by design) the red, green or blue global axis, SU snaps the endpoint just off my mark with the "Constrained by..." message, and won't let me move it. As mentioned in your other thread where you wanted to change the bounding box and component axes to run along the component's geometry, you can take away the disturbing factor by temporarily redrawing the axes. Then snapping to your target shouldn't be a problem. If this happens a lot, create a scene with only the "odd" drawing axes saved. p.s. it is important to know that the use of the scene with its saved axes is not restricted to just one context. Open a (nested) group or component and you'll still be able to use the scene!

Yes, Wo3Dan, you do. And thank you..... I tried that in the past and most times it works. But you sparked a thought that is a solution. Within the bounds of the component I draw a grouped cube, and align it as I want the components axis to be. Change Axis of the component to the grouped cube works every time! Then I delete the grouped cube. It can be a bit tedious for a lot of off axis components, but it works better and faster than playing with change axis a dozen times. The primary reason I need accurate axis alignment is I use Move/rotate and Rotate to orient copies of the component in several positions, where the rotation axis is not quite on the global axis, like changing flap angles on a dihedral swept wing. I also use hidden lines to extend the bounding box so that the main rotation axis is dead on the geo-center of the bounding box. That way I only need the Move/rotate tool to simply pivot the object; instead of the Rotate tool, having to find the center of rotation and its RGB attitude every time I need to change the components attitude. Now... if only I can remember to do that instead if instinctively just change Axis!!!!

You might be able to use Bitmap to Mesh.

agrazdi, Animator is not finished yet and still in Beta. Actually, it will be chargeable when more advanced. There is also a difference between Simulator and Animation applications. With Simulators, you design kinematic and physical constraints and relationship, and then you can freely move some objects or cameras, and record the effect as a video. Say, you design a car movement with wheels, and then you can drive it on any road.So it is very powerful. With Animation, you have to create your scenario, by arranging movements of objects and cameras along a timeline, regardless of physical constraints. Say, you drive the car on a given road. You get exactly what you want, but if you wish a variation, you need to modify the animation elements. Fredo

Hi Guys thank you so much for your thoughts. The 1940's bar requiring the "scars' and nuance of a war effected economy and the sketchup forum link (with some interesting suggestions that may have merit) and little big house ( I need to research that) all sound really interesting and I hope the inspire and challenge others. Thing is I failed to communicate my thoughts well at all I am trying to build a portfolio and gain experience in Architectural Visualisation. So am looking for a brief in that sphere. Atm I am plagiarising other peoples architectural concepts and putting my own spin on it or designing out of my head and working with spontaneous variations and atmospherics. My most successful stuff has been watching a movie and finding an image within the movie that inspires, and doing a model/render trying to recreate and putting a spin on it that makes it mine. But without referencing that image further than my original mental snapshot (see attached image as an example of a mental screenshot from "The Martian 2015) The result looks very different from the inspiring screenshot once I referenced it on completion of the render, As I added people and changed it to look more contemporary. Sorry about the ramble but that was my way of giving ideas for inspiration to others. And in light of that asking for other ideas/brief/conceptual start point specifically something that may impress Architects requiring an architectural visualisations, especially building exteriors. Any further input and ideas welcome. OK I just read that back and it sounded a bit Blah... Blah....Blah. Hope it is understandable to others [image: Ie2x_HiTechRoom1.png]

Sometimes I like to work on components in a separate file using "Save as" and "Reload" in the contextual menu (for example a whole building as part of whole site). Partly to speed work but also to more easily isolate while working on that portion. Sometimes this also helps work because the axis of the component is the model axis in the sub-file.

There was recently a windows update that affects every intel processor for the past decade, to fix a major security flaw. In certain situations, you could even see a performance reduction of up to 30%. I'm not sure to what degree that this is affecting SketchUp performance, but I have my suspicions that it's caused a little bit of slowness.

I recommend the SketchUp plugin MSPhysics as a simulation and animation tool in combination with Twilight Free (Pro approx. 99 €) or Indigo RT (approx. 145 €). Single frame sequences, rendered and/or in SketchUp style, can be easily combined with video software to create movies and superimposed for the desired look.

You must make a very tiny seam on the circular form! (center to perimeter or from anywhere to the perimeter) Because form must have 4 "sides" ! So another solution here a big one seam! But you see easily the "4 sides" of the curvated surface! [image: file.php?id=146671] [image: file.php?id=146672]

The section fill doesn't create a group on its own. If you use Create group from slice you do get a group and of course it's only the outline. There's no face. It can be difficult to see and select that group if there's a fill and especially if the fill color is black. You can change the fill color, of course, or you could select the group in Outliner. I'm not seeing any issues with the fill updating when moving the section cut. The group from slice doesn't update but then it never did. [image: BuXD_section.gif]

A very versatile tool indeed! Just a little trick : all Targets must be a same copy component else Source(s) don't follow the different target's orientations! I believe in this one you have Relative size or not! ComponentReplace.zip

Still I feel I have learned useful things from both of you in this thread that I will experiment with, maybe I can find the perfect solution in the end, I do a lot of this plans so I think its on of those worth it once you learn how type things. Thank you both!
