Which version are you using? The version I have looks like this (see below). Took me a good while to realise that the "Copy the ORiginal" box had to be set to no, which unfortunately is not the default setting. [image: fbzs_UIExample1.JPG] I finally got things figured out. Sort of. Below, the kind of results I'm looking for. [image: MAbW_Result.JPG] I appreciate the help with things. I'm in kind of a difficult position in a way. Most of the 3d software out there either has a User Interface that will make your eyes bleed, and lead to samurai pattern baldness, from tearing out your hair (Blender) or cost enormous amounts of money, (anything from Autodesk), or is so unstable and crashprone as to be nearly unusable (Lightwave. It's almost abandonware at this point.) So, I use SketchUp. Unfortunately, SU has gone almost completely in the direction of Architecture, which is not all that helpful for Sci-Fi illustrators like myself. I'm always looking for workarounds, and shortcuts, plugins and extensions. Anything to speed up model building, and cut down on post production. Meanwhile, the field of Sci-Fi illustration has gone over mostly to the Autodesk side of things. I don't know anyone with the ability to pay 3700 USD for a single seat software license. The community here on sketchucation has always been really helpful. I really can't thank people enough for the help I've gotten here, and all the things I've learned, sometimes just from lurking and reading. SO, Thank you once again, and may you not be in the path of the next hurricane. Cathryn

@juju said: If that doesn't work, try contacting the author to create an rbz version. TIG and I already created the RBZ versions and edited them to work with newer versions of SketchUp. TIG did the metric version and I did the imperial version. They are available here on Sketchucation. They install like any other RBZ file you download to your computer.

Hi, It's been a long time since I've updated any of my plugins, but I want to make a comeback so I am currently working on some of them which I hope to make available in the near future. At the moment I am creating a framework to make my plugin's GUI be drawn directly on SketchUp's viewport so I can avoid using web-dialogs altogether. This is taking little longer than expected but ones its ready then updating my plugins should be faster. Thanks for the feedback and I'll start working on this plugin sooner than later.

It'd be clearer if you posted a SKP so we could check it out. The line is best draw along the red axis and the group you are bending behind it and the arc behind that. Also the line/arc should be of sufficient length to give the bend needed. As @Box says you can also flip the bend using the toggle key presses when it's previewed.

I am using Sketchup 2016, which others here seem to have no problem with. However, the plugin will not drill threaded holes though a solid. If I make a box 2"x2"x2", I cannot drop a threaded hole through the thing. I place the "circle" on a face, but then nothing happens. HOWEVER, if I pick a length, like for a blind hole, and set the depth to 2", it does fine. Goes right through. Any idea why the threaded through hole is not working?

Have you tried clearing your browser's cache ? You might also need to login to the PluginStore separately, it's on a separate server... [top-right corner button - same user/pwd as here] ? You obviously logged into this section - because you posted this ! Can you open this link ? https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=ToolsOnSurface You also need his Lib: https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=LibFredo6

I believe he lives in Chappell Hill, Texas now. According to his posts on FaceBook, he did get some damage but all seems fine. In his words: @unknownuser said: We've had some driven rain come into the house and had to rip some carpet out. Will have to open the wall to remediate at some point. Otherwise, we're ok! Thanks!

First off - remove the Roof RB file/subfolder [or RBZ ?] from Tools. and install it correctly. Get the latest RBZ from the PluginStore - it's at v4.0: https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=Roof Thread is here: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=17156#p17156 It's linked in the big pink block in this old thread's first post... The latest RBZ archive needs to be installed using Window > Preferences > Extensions > Install Extension [gray-button]. Note that in v2017 this installer-button has moved into Window > Extension Manager, and is 'red'. The contents of the RBZ are then extracted into your User Plugins folder. For several versions of SketchUp this has NOT been in the main SketchUp folder within Program Files - you should never need to change or add anything as it's reserved and has restricted permissions too. The User Plugins folder is now in your User's AppData folder-path. It's hidden by default, as you rarely need to manually change it. You can see it by changing the Windows Explorer 'Folder Options'... Copy/Paste this + enter in the Window > Ruby Console, it opens your Plugins folder for you... UI.openURL("file:///#{Sketchup.find_support_file("Plugins")}") the path will be: C:/Users/YOURWINDOWSUSERNAME/AppData/Roaming/SketchUp/SketchUp 2017/SketchUp/Plugins

Jim brilliantly* solved this already. Very valuable, but the author didn't bother to put it in the Store (as well as 'save as previos version') https://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323%26amp;t=33441%26amp;start=30 jf_save_instances.rb 9th post from the bottom. *Currently it's 2-step procedure. I wish someday it will be one-click solution.

Maybe you can try the free Vectary online! it has someting for transform lines in tubes for 3D Printing...or other...! (of course you can Import / Export any file : just find some compatible formats with SU! OBJ will be the trick) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgHebA919yU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ri17dyUXgo

Sdmitch thank you for paying attention, The most basic tool is requested: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2017/ENU/3DSMax/files/GUID-A9B0CA7D-D19F-4FC7-B5B4-DC48229FCFFF-htm.html 1.select object(s) 2. hit shortcut 3. mouse click* 2nd (target) object 4. Result: pre-selected object(s) get transferred to the 'target' object location. Asceticism is welcomed: no need for confirmations\reports. *Control click target would align respecting target's rotation. @unknownuser said: What does 'pivotless' mean? I mean the Group in SU is just some kind of restricted component that doesn't have option to set up its axes (=pivot-less) But in fact program invisibly inserts pivot at bottom lower left corner WHICH IS A BAD CHOICE. So in case of GROUPS, I'd like this script to use the BOTTOM-CENTERS instead.
