PLusspec is still more expensive per year than Archicad and Vectorworks (and only has a fraction of their capabilities)---and if we decide not to renew, we have no software to work with. Sell us a station, then let us decide if we want to upgrade every year. If we don't, at least we have last year's model to continue working with (if it was a stable version). There are still users producing solid work with SKP 8, and I have last year's version (20) of Archicad which I can use, if I wish, for the next 20 years at no ongoing cost. I paid once for the licence. I own it. It is entirely my choice if I wish to upgrade to 21. In the face of your costing hi-jacks as a BIM puppy, your glowing mea-culpas are tiresome.

Unfortunately, I did buy it in March. After a new installation of Sketchup, I tried to buildedge again, and discovered that it isn't available. I'm really sorry I wasted my money.

TIG, still getting problems here. On more complex production files, the routine ends up bogging down hard, prompting the option to abort the script. On "nested" layers geometry is butchered so that solids are not retained, only bringing in line segments. At least named components in layers do work. I am attaching a "simple complex" file that does work as far as finishing the routine, however, on a large scale file, the process bogs down to untenable, and I have yet to sit through a full cycle of the script running... Here's the fix, complete with pictures! I tested this with a half dozen people and it worked every time. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lxsloXP1cpuYKBO1JgdSOphqLxUxzwBHH9rQZMio25M/edit?usp=sharing

Hi everyone, Is the script supposed to work with 'skp' extension too? I am on Skethup Make 17, *dae and *kmz are exporting correctly but is there any way to save a native skp file by layer? The console reports: X files exported by layer, as 'skp' altough there is nothing in the model folder. Thanks a lot for the help! Andrea

@mariocha said: To Mac users: Sierra & High Sierra. Finally tracked down that occasional (sometime often) SU 'Hang on quit' problem. (beachball & force quit) Occurs every time one of Fredo's configuration dialog is opened during a session. I've had problems primarily with SUClock. It not only hangs on quit, but it then has to be disabled manually before re-launching or it splats on launch. The problem has been intermittent, so I haven't noticed if it's related to opening the configuration window. I will check it out though. Thanks for the info. (will also update to the latest LibFredo, which will hopefully obviate the need to figure it out)

Curviloft and Trupaint already support it and can be integrated really well in a quad/sub-d workflow.. Having JPP with same capability would be a dream! I think there is the option, but for Normal PushPull. Not sure it makes sense for the other tools. Fredo I'll try to put togheter a simple example to show you why i think that could make sense both with NPP and regular JPP. edit: I noticed this tread is about outdated version, so I posted my example here https://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=54771&p=626639#p626639

Which version are you using? The version I have looks like this (see below). Took me a good while to realise that the "Copy the ORiginal" box had to be set to no, which unfortunately is not the default setting. [image: fbzs_UIExample1.JPG] I finally got things figured out. Sort of. Below, the kind of results I'm looking for. [image: MAbW_Result.JPG] I appreciate the help with things. I'm in kind of a difficult position in a way. Most of the 3d software out there either has a User Interface that will make your eyes bleed, and lead to samurai pattern baldness, from tearing out your hair (Blender) or cost enormous amounts of money, (anything from Autodesk), or is so unstable and crashprone as to be nearly unusable (Lightwave. It's almost abandonware at this point.) So, I use SketchUp. Unfortunately, SU has gone almost completely in the direction of Architecture, which is not all that helpful for Sci-Fi illustrators like myself. I'm always looking for workarounds, and shortcuts, plugins and extensions. Anything to speed up model building, and cut down on post production. Meanwhile, the field of Sci-Fi illustration has gone over mostly to the Autodesk side of things. I don't know anyone with the ability to pay 3700 USD for a single seat software license. The community here on sketchucation has always been really helpful. I really can't thank people enough for the help I've gotten here, and all the things I've learned, sometimes just from lurking and reading. SO, Thank you once again, and may you not be in the path of the next hurricane. Cathryn

@juju said: If that doesn't work, try contacting the author to create an rbz version. TIG and I already created the RBZ versions and edited them to work with newer versions of SketchUp. TIG did the metric version and I did the imperial version. They are available here on Sketchucation. They install like any other RBZ file you download to your computer.

Hi, It's been a long time since I've updated any of my plugins, but I want to make a comeback so I am currently working on some of them which I hope to make available in the near future. At the moment I am creating a framework to make my plugin's GUI be drawn directly on SketchUp's viewport so I can avoid using web-dialogs altogether. This is taking little longer than expected but ones its ready then updating my plugins should be faster. Thanks for the feedback and I'll start working on this plugin sooner than later.

It'd be clearer if you posted a SKP so we could check it out. The line is best draw along the red axis and the group you are bending behind it and the arc behind that. Also the line/arc should be of sufficient length to give the bend needed. As @Box says you can also flip the bend using the toggle key presses when it's previewed.

I am using Sketchup 2016, which others here seem to have no problem with. However, the plugin will not drill threaded holes though a solid. If I make a box 2"x2"x2", I cannot drop a threaded hole through the thing. I place the "circle" on a face, but then nothing happens. HOWEVER, if I pick a length, like for a blind hole, and set the depth to 2", it does fine. Goes right through. Any idea why the threaded through hole is not working?
