Finally I have version 1.0 Now it's highly dependent of the product structure (or OUTLINER), but seems to work well ... I will post it in a NEW thread. Enjoy and lets see how to improve this ... Regards Marcio

@chris fullmer said: This is really late, but the way to do it without purchasing or coding anything is like this: Set the model animation speed to .1 seconds. Export an animation with these settings: For the export type choose .jpg (or .png or whatever) Set the frame rate to 10 frames per second Then export it. It works out that 10 frames per second and we set the animation to be .1 seconds per scene. So each scene gets exported, one after the other. I hope that makes sense. You should also be bale to set the animation to 1 scene per second and then set 1 frame per second if your brain likes to think of it like that. Chris oh many thanks , it a good idea

Jim, could your script also "pull" parallel infinite lines like the tape measure tool?

Todd at Smustard.com developed centerpoint.rb which identifies the centerpoint of selected geometry. EDIT: After re-reading your original request, Kwistenbiel, I realize you already referred to this script....so never mind!!

SU should load the textures automatically, but all the textures has to be in the same folder as the .3ds file. And all the .3ds format only allows for texture files with the old 8.3 naming conversion. If your textures doesn't follow this file naming conversion the textures won't load as 3DS truncates the file names upon export. Should give you a warning about this.

@mkprofiles said: I am going to bump this as I am still looking for help Not totally sure of everything you are after, but won't the facility of custom fields in Dynamic components introduced in V7 be of use. I am no coder, and have not studied all the possibilities in the formulas that can be used in the 'Custom' fields, but if I read your examples correctly, you should be able to add items based on calculations (eg length pricing). I had a similar requirement for adding custom attributes and found that the cost of the options available previously was prohibitive, but a breeze in V7 (except for the reporting - but that's the subject of another post http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=15052)

RpReports is designed to let you create attributes - such as cost per sq foot, etc. for components - place the components into SketchUp and create reports. It is designed for applications where you create a library of components and distribute it to your dealers, or clients, who place the components and create a parts list with prices. Because of its price, and the up-front work required to create a component library, define attributes, define formulas for calculations and design reports - it is designed for large projects, and not for individual users who want an occasional report. Modo is a fantastic software. But I prefer Sketchup for being accustomed. One day still desire to learn to use Modo in a professional way. The tools of selection of Modo are fantastic, as to Loop Selection. Developers of Sketchup should analyze the Modo more closely.

oh, ok. Thanks Your description of your method is such that I didn't need to download your skp file. But the tool that I am suggesting will be not only for the square faces that I have shown, but also for use with curved lines on the faces. I really appreciate your feedback though. Maybe I will have to see if I can purchase a copy of "Ruby script for SketchUp for dummies". Thanks Crazy Eyes

basically a nice idea. however I don't like the prospect of losing even more space due to additional toolbars. but a slight variation of the idea could be great: if you press and hold down a certain shortcut key, icons of your favourite components assemble in a circular way around your cursor. while still holding down the shortcut key, you move your cursor over the desired component and release the button. as a result the move tool is activated and the component is clinging to your cursor...
