Do you have crash when closing a project window ? Or loading another Skp file ? I have such crashes, it's minor for me, but since month I was sick about. I send a mail to Google SketchUp team, and they send me a procedure to try to fix it. I will try these days and tell you about.

Thank you very much TIG, i´ll try every option and see which one works and post results I tried the easiest thing first and it worked, i disabled the fast feedback and the problem disappeared. But i like my fast feedback so i turned it ON again and the problem didn´t came back, i just did that i have a new driver ready to install but i think that if this happens again i will just try the disable/enable fast feedback again

No more white line bug with the new Mac OsX Lion on HD3000. I have also tested the new Mac Book Air with Lion. SketchUp work perfectly.

Hi, Jim: In Sketchup 8 I inserted a sphere component and made a tall narrow box near it, I applied the native dim tool, clicked on some vertex on the sphere and dragged over to the box hovered over an edge and clicked- it didn't take, so while the tool still waited for the second relevant point, I clicked on a top vertex on the box. The dimension displayed the direct distance (non ortho), but as I brought the cursor downward a dotted blue line accompanied, and clicking near the edge below that vertex the dimension was set. Is this not what you see? Or, do you mean, after first click you do not have any type of axis locking? That is what I see also. Would this be a bug or an undeveloped feature, or have you been able to do this previously? Because, it is not available in my 7 version either. Just hoping to corroborate and keep this item floating in the active topics.

Thanks for the reply mitcorb... I was messing around with it today, trying to duplicate, and instigate the undesired behavior. It just appears to be "Hidden Geometry" becoming unhidden... Usually when I hide something, to get it out of the way of what I am working on at the moment, I'll click "Unhide All", when I'm finished. The randomly created hidden geometry, appears to just be SketchUp doing it's thing, behind the scenes, when edges, faces, and points, cross that forbidden "proximity line", where SketchUp no longer offers you a choice of precision - it just decides to do what it wants. In future releases, they really need to crack down on the math in this program... I'm getting sick of the same root problem, that seems to know no scale, or visibility. If any two edges, points, or faces are close enough to "snap" into another form, in the free version - then there really is no point in trying to market a pay version, which is essentially the same program, and same problems. Anssi Actually, Sketchup Arc is recognized as Arc in AutoCAD and Curves as Polylines. But it must be something... on the way the coordinates are stored, or something about the vertices, because as I said, some of the Arc elements get mirrored about origin of the drawing when I import the DXF into that CNC software. So...that software (NC-HOPS) is expecting something from the DXF and AutoCAD dxfs offer, but Sketchup exported DXF does not, or offer differently.

Hi, I am experiencing similar problem even after I perform a selection only. It happens when I do a region select on part of a large mesh (say 25K faces). At the moment a finish region select operation (release left mouse button) SketchUp freezes for a few seconds and comes back with the selected portion smoothed with the current smoothing option. The smoothing can even be undone. It happens in all modes of selection (+, +-, or -). Triple select or Ctrl-A typically does not suffer from this. It is so annoying...

You get "not responding" when SketchUp is doing a task which take a while to complete. It doesn't mean it has crashed - it just haven't finished yet. Sandbox Tools can take a loooong time to complete.

The creator of the DWG file should purge and audit the file and save the copy as an earlier version <=2010 - Also there are many things that might be in the DWG file that won't be imported into the SKP so these can be erased before purging etc - e.g. Text, Dimensions, Hatching etc... This will speed things up and avoid unneeded layers, blocks etc arriving with the import...

Thomthom, I believe that it is only hidden geometry. I tried renaming the Plugins folder so it wouldn't load at startup. That seems to eliminate the problem. Hi Greg, I am afraid it will be extremely difficult to achieve an output that size which resembles what you can see on screen. Sketchy edges are made up of raster images and adjust themselves to screen resolution (or what the heck). Read a very good explanation here: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=968

That looks like the adapive degrading's boundingbox. I think I've seen that as well on occasions when it occurs. Doesn't seem to adhere to the Hide Rest of Model setting.

I'll make this a priority to get released this week.
