The way I would do it, simply, is to make a solid component that is exactly the same shape on its perimeter as your custom window, but a few inches thick. I would not use the custom window component itself as that probably has far too much detail in it and that makes the next steps harder. Place the template on the wall where you want it and move it into the outer wall surface about 1/2 way the template thickness. Edit the wall, select the wall surface only, and Intersect with Model. That will create a face that matches the window profile. Delete the template or move it away if you need it again. That will show you the window outline on the wall. Select it and Push/Pull it to the inner wall surface. That will create the window opening in the wall. Place a copy of the custom window in the opening.

I suspect SU keeps refreshing its window as the file loads, and Win 10 jumps to it. I say this because I have noticed on big file loads (most of mine) the window flickers every now and then, although nothing changes. I don't switch windows during the file load so I have not seen the jump or pop-up as you stated.

@kaas said: You're not running on old hardware that SketchUp doesn't support anymore? See more here: https://help.sketchup.com/en/article/36208 that's actually a good point, try downloading the Sketchup 2017 CheckUp app and run that, maybe some clues from that?

Profile Builder 2 will help sort that type of thing out, and it can do much more.

Linear dimensions are created between endpoints but when segments are welded as in the case of a circle, there are no endpoints. The intent when dimensioning a circle or an arc is to have dimensions as shown below. It's always been this way. At least going back to V3 which is far back as I can remember. [image: c4QG_Screenshot-11_3_20163_03_15PM.png] If you don't want to explode a circle, draw a diameter and dimension that. [image: ciMM_Screenshot-11_3_20163_08_10PM.png] and if you don't want the diameter line, erase it after you've placed the dimension. [image: WlId_Screenshot-11_3_20163_08_56PM.png]

Hello, drafter, The reason the camera zooms is because after the last domino falls, it unfortunately penetrates the ground, and keeps falling until it makes the camera bounds too large for the view. What you can do is adjust simulation settigns to prevent the unwanted penetration. To make adjustements to simulation settings, open MSPhysics UI, activate Simulation tab, and do the following: Change Update Timestep to "x1/2 (1/120)" Change World Scale to 10 Also, unrelated to MSPhysics, I noticed the camera was set to parallel projection. You can change it to perspective if thats desired, by navigativing to and selecting (Menu) Camera->Perspective. Anton

In an ancient version of SketchUp. Since Google sold SketchUp there is no longer that option but you can export the model as a KMZ file which you can open in Google Earth.

@juju said: Another approach I, for one, did not consider. Any way one can start incorporating the creation of return reveals (thickness, so when cut through in plan illustrates correctly) and lintels as well? Alternatively call it using a ruby that does the extra things you want / need including exploding the cutting component and removing it. It depends on how much detail one requires, the lintels can be incorporated, the linings/reveals would be better as part of the window install, a window DC set to scale and nested two deep to survive the double explosion is doable. Then that can be swapped with a detailed one, client choice. Will give it a go over the weekend, plus add the insulation factor. Philip

You cannot do a followme using your vertical face, because it's a curved surface. It's various edges are not coplanar. It's easy enough to redraw it and make a single face which will work. With view > hidden geometry on you can see the faceting of your face. [image: Fw5i_Capture.PNG]
