"Permission denied" looks like a permissions problem. Have you edited the Plugins folders permissions to allow all users full access?

Have you tried repair/reinstalling it? Perhaps its importer file is bust and needs a repair? Have you tried saving the DWG as an earlier version - perhaps r2004 [i.e. in AutoCAD] ? OR if all else fails perhaps save it as an earlier version DXF... then install/use one of the several free DXF importer tools available to use with 'Free' -

If you got a bunch of them to do maybe you want to try a different tack. Use the Rectangle tool to draw a large face that is coplanar with your flattened geometry. Make the face larger than the map. Select it all and use Intersect Faces>With Selection. Then delete what you don't need. If the map is all flat, the faces should remain filled.

While the faces round the rim and on the inside bottom are missing because they're too small for SU to create them, the face on the bottom isn't missing for that reason. It is missing because Follow Me is subtractive when there's already geometry at the location. You left the face of the circle for the path after drawing it. Since there's a face there already, it gets deleted during the FM action. Delete the circle first and then run Follow Me. You'll find that the bottom of your bowl is then made just fin. If you're going to scale up and scale back down, there's no need to make the thing a group first. I frequently draw small details that require scaling to get faces to complete. I make a component of the entire geometry, copy it and scale it up as needed. Don't open the component for editing before scaling. Then I work on the large version and when I've finished, I close the large copy and delete it. This leaves the original in its original location with all the tiny faces created. [image: Avg4_L_1.png] This is after scaling a copy of your profile up by a factor of 10 which was enough to get faces made. Leaving the original in place and working on a copy is especially useful when the original is already placed where you need it because you don't have to spend time putting it back. This idea is useful for more than just Follow Me operations and you don't always have to scale the copy up.

You have a funny Plugin by TIG Split Saussage! Just draw the first segment anywhere between the 2 offsets! Seems you will obtain Quads [image: file.php?id=83045&t=1]

When you toggle zoom extents the program will display the total model with some parts you do not realize you made. It could be a very short line you cannot even see. Suggest you select the model( double click), change the rendering mode to wire frame and hide it. Then do a select all and delete. Un-hide your model and then do the zoom extents again. Hidden wire frame is not selectable so this will only delete the items you do not want. Save your model first, this works through Su8 I've not check if it is ok for 2013

@wo3dan said: @tk0001 said: @smicha said: Here is my solution - works prefect for me: Define new shortcuts: F5 - parallel view. Pressing F5 twice will switch from parallel to perspective. Alt+1 - top view (I also have defined Alt+2 for bottom, and so on up to Alt+6) Z - zoom extents - it is defined as ctr+shift+e by default, but I use this function too often. So simpler Z works perfect. Now select your object among many in your model. Hit F5 for parallel view, then alt+1 for top view and finally Z for zooming on your selected object. Hope it helps. smicha, using this method, the views are still intermittent, but I really like these shortcuts! Thanks! I will use these heavily! They shouldn't be. The method described by smicha works if you apply the appropriate 'Zoom Extents'. There are two different 'Zoom Extents'. One is the default Ctrl+Shift+Z or the icon. The other 'Zoom Extents' is the one in the right click context menu. It is this one that you need to assign to a shortcut key. It isn't displayed in the overalll shortcut list untill you have something selected. So select something > then goto menu Window > Preferences > Shortcuts > assign 'Edit/item/Zoom Extents' to a key(-combination). Say you pick {Ctrl]+Z With this shortcut key it always works. Method (being in Parallel Projection): select something you want to focus on in top view > hit Top View > hit [Ctrl]+Z THERE IT IS! Thanks so much. This is something that has bugged me for awhile. Glad to know the solution wasn't as easy as I feared.

This might help if you have to roll your own........ They are labeled as Aluminum (for my use) but are the exact same size as ISO standard steel cubes. 2 versions, a detailed and a low poly. Keep in mind, there are 4 different kinds of cubes, lower and upper, each for left and right corners, Corner Cubes

I've used Selection Toys for a while (new V2.2 is out, which I have not yet installed) I keep "Entity Info" dialog open at all times in the upper right of screen. ABOVE it is a simple Selection Toys toolbar, where I have just a few icons I use the most, that is: Select Lines, Faces, Groups, Components, Hidden, Soft, Smooth, as well as deselect same list.

When "Perspective" is ON, the clipping occurs as you zoom in close. You can also pass through a face to see inside the model or what's behind the face. Note that clipping only becomes noticeable if you zoom into a line or vertex. Zooming into a face may not show clipping. With perspective OFF, the clipping occurs as you zoom out (away) from the model. But you can zoom in extremely close without clipping. However you CANNOT pass through a face. You can adjust the point of clipping by playing with the "field of view" but anything very different from default will look distorted at various zoom values.

Keep in mind a special condition of (non dynamic)components is that what ever you do INSIDE the bounding box (color, scaling, rotations), applies to ALL same components in the model. All changes to the external bounding box, (colour, scaling, rotations) apply only to that copy of the component. If you need to make a change to the details of only that one component (that would be inside the box, make it "unique" first. So if you are using different lengths of the same extrusion, scale the component from outside the box for each copy. If you want to change the wall thickness of all copies, then edit the component (inside the box). If you want to change the wall thickness for only one copy, make it unique, then edit it.

If in your example you did not want the 2 perpendicular faces to give you the weird shading, but you don't want to see the line, then keep it "soft" and NOT "smooth". Select the line, and use "entity info" to make the adjustment. Don't use "hidden", which effectively is both soft and smooth, but also has other attributes you may not want.
