Perhaps my 'Fix Reversed Face Materials'... http://sketchucation.com/resources/pluginstore?pln=FixReversedFaceMaterials There are several permutations... put basically... if you have applied UV mapped textures onto the backs of faces that are actually looking in the direction that their fronts should have been , then simply reversing the faces also flips their materials with them: moving their textures to the now 'hidden' backsides: to save you... this tool reverses the faces so their fronts are in the direction they ought to be [looking 'out'], and at the same time it flips their material, so that the front faces now have the textures that were previously on the back, and their UV mapping is also replicated properly; the back material is turned to 'default'...

I don't know but SketchUp 2013 shouldn't have done anything with your SketchUp 8. As I said before, SU 2013 is installed in an entirely different directory than SU8. As far as I know SU 2013 doesn't even look at the Google folder or its contents during install. Or did you use a custom install location when you installed SketchUp? Is SU 8 in a folder called Google?

Hi, MM: Sketchup heretofore does not do lights, or caustics. It is not a rendering program. You could create a material/texture from a picture of a blazing light bulb, but it would not impart any effect on the surroundings. You mentioned Kerkythea and Light Up which are both good rendering programs. Look at this forum page: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=3220#p15472 Maybe one of those?

Sketchup Development Team monitors this Forum. When they feel it important to reply they will. Just not quite as often as we might wish.

Try this: Add the materials to a model. Just make squares or something and paint them with the colors you want to use. Go to the Colors in model library. Right click on each material and edit the name. Make sure you hit return after typing the name and close the Edit window before going to the next. After you've edited the names of the materials click on the List menu and choose Duplicate. Give the duplicate library a name of your choice and hit Ok. Done.

Oh, ok. I must have forgotten about having to use Ctrl when clicking.
