And i've find this is not something of "big theory" as I thought, but something pretty simple [image: spir_A.jpg] [image: th_spir_B.jpg] [image: th_spir_C.jpg] The technic developped by KitoRaupp in his videos is not so easy to understand. For me, a plain hour to understand and reach the good result! So I've made a video to explain it better (I'm the author of nothing here): [image: th_KitoRauppPottery.jpg] simon

Dear David, I like it very much, and so does 'er indoors. My wife is from India and so I usually refer to her as the 'memsahib'. I like the way you have simplified the framework, yet retained the storage space. The bi-fold doors work really well, and should be fairly straightforward for a cabinet maker. The recessed section at floor level is also an excellent idea. It is these little finishing touches that make all the difference. The existing floor is made up of pine floor boards, but as I plan to redo the flooring I will make the base of the wardrobe separate from the rest of the flooring to avoid trapping floor boards under the wardrobe. I would love to make something like this myself, but I have absolutely no skill with wood. I plan to commission the work as part of an overall house renovation which will include pretty much everything, from re-roofing to building a new bathroom and kitchen. The work will necessitate leaving the house for several months as British builders are not known for their speed. Thank you for taking an interest, and for all your excellent ideas and re-modelling. I know how long design concepts take, and so I'm especially grateful for all your efforts. Kind regards, Bob

Dear Pilou and Dolphus, Thank you for your kind words. The final modelling was done in Autodesk's Inventor, but by then I knew exactly what I wanted to draw and so that part went very quickly. Pilou, I didn't know about your plugin fragmentation. It looks very useful. Is there an English version too? Kind regards, Bob

I vote for mm. If I ever use anything else but millimeters it's meters when the models are of a large scale. Cm might be closer in number to inch, but it doesn't feel like a natural unit to work with. In architectural offices the default unit is mm. Same for engineering.

Dear Remus, Sorry for this late reply but I'm in India at the moment and do not have access to the model. The model is quite large (several MB)because I tend not to optimise file size if it's a design study and not needed for anything else. I also use 48 segments when drawing largish circles to give a smoother appearance. For really large stuff (radii between 500 and 1000 mm) I use 96 segments. Regards, Bob

Misunderstandings of irony aside, I've got to say I don't find the content of this video all that objectionable and the implication that it could only happen in America (because of the title) is very unfair IMO. If you sat at your computer searching YouTube for a day you could probably find footage of "police being heavy handed" incidents from any country in the world. The only difference between the reaction of UK and US police would be that the chances that a drunk driver in the UK would be carrying a gun would be extremely slim, whereas in the US it would be much more likely. I've seen enough videos of US cops going about their duty, pulling over dangerous drivers and then being shot/murdered by the driver or his passengers to be surprised that they didn't taze this guy the second he put his hands in his pockets. I'm surprised traffic cops don't make dangerous drivers and their passengers get out of the car and lie face down before they even get out of the car and approach them; why risk being murdered just for doing your job?
