Simple bench

Dear All,
A simple bench modelled on a image seen in a woodworking magazine. The image only showed the top section of one of the supports, and so the interpretation and the dimensions are my own.

I think the supports would work both ways, but the way shown is probably more stable. The 'horns' of the supports could probably be shorter as they take up too much seating space. The arrangement makes a nice garden bench in that can be disassembled and stored when not needed. The same idea might be used for a simple table. I would probably use three supports (milking stool principle), with a triangular table top and three benches. The supports for the table could probably arch outward from the centre providing more leg room. Anyone for a picnic?

I have always wanted to work with wood, but my career path has left me with very little free time. Also, I live in the smallest of houses with a small garden, and so no room for a workshop. Perhaps one day.
I like the idea of using the weight of the table to lock the supports into position. I think the table-top could be split into two, dividing one of the square corner profiles. Some method of joining and stiffening the other end would be needed, but splitting the table in this way would make storage much easier.
