To load a Ruby file SketchUp processes the source through 'eval'. That message is saying that some extension's Ruby file is so severely damaged that eval gave up. So, as TIG wrote, you will have to track down the culprit among your plugins/extensions.

Hopefully fbx or allembic will be in a future release. Then we can send animated meshes.

When you render from Animator plugin the visibility will be used, because it re-exports each animation frame. There is no option of fading the visibility in/out though. If you render same animation from Thea animation tab, then the visibility will not work. This happens, because Thea4SU does everything to convert the animation to Thea's native animation which doesn't support visibility yet.

I saw this on the Gadget Show....even an amateur painted something pretty impressive. You do need a kinect-style device tracking your movement in the room though.

@nektares said: Maybe this, on first step just draw a rough aproximation of where you want the rope to go. on step two adjust it and then convert it with bz toolbar to catmull spline and then the final step just tube along path or follow me along the generated catmull spline. <!-- ia0 -->rope_test1.jpg<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:25tsseem] The times I tried the same workflow tube along path worked better.

if you move the low poly version of the camera, will it update the scene view? I found the default advanced camera plugin awful. when fulcrums are displayed the scene gets far too large and causes constant clipping, even if hidden

@ntxdave said: Building them as part of the base product would probably on raise the price.
So, what else would you expect to get with the next updates? More Layout features or bigger icons? And the price has already been raised significantly since Trimble's takeover. Speaking of features i really would like to understand why the development of dynamic components has been abandoned right after the release in SU7 (?) years ago. The interface and functionality is just laughable compared to other solutions and i think there would be many possibilities if this would be improved in the right way.

I have a i7 4930, 32 gb ram, p9x79, gtx 770 and all the rest I recovered from my previous built. I do recommend to buy a proper case. Rebuilding is a lot easier with a decent case. I'm very pleased about my fractal design Define R4. Until today I can render anything I have to in less then 15 min and at a very high quality.

I remember spending a lot of time trying to make Star Wars ships when I was about 14, and sketchup was still just a hobby... I distinctly remember trying my hand at a light freighter from the extended universe. I was parsecs away from these, and I doubt I could make something this good even now, but who knows, maybe you'll inspire me to have another go

For architectural scale models, you almost have to start from scratch or rebuild them using the existing model as a guide for the scale you want to print at. The reason is because when you scale down an existing model, you're left with tons of features that are too small to print, so you have to start over and exaggerate the size of features that are important to show, decide what needs to be left out. It's pretty easy to repeat after you've done one, because the modeling is so much simpler. I guess an analogy would be low-poly models for faraway components in a game vs. the high detail closeup objects.
