Tell your friend to look for the latest information about Wine (is not an emulator ). Take also a look at this link. It changes a lot, so old threads might be outdated. There is barely any effort to get it work (except disabling software rendering). It works beautifully with hardware acceleration, and Ruby runs better. I haven't noticed any effort for the Windows/OSX version to share cross-platform technology, that would save time and money and that could ever result in another operating system support.

Oh, I agree, the text and arrows are not drawn by hand. That sort of thing can be done in LayOut easily enough.

I prefer 2 or 3, 2 looks especially more temporary to me and the cushion is easy to store compared to 4. Would love to see the finished product! Cheers!

I wish I could find a plugin that would make money come out of that unused A-drive slot on the front of my computer.

@dale said: jaryn These are great. #9 for me, but I would really like to see #2 with other colors as the concept is quite interesting. something specific?[/quote] Two thoughts: My first impression was just wondering what other colors would look like, as I really liked the way the white accentuates some of the shapes, particularly the staircase, by forming a nicely proportioned border. But I would also like to see the dark color taken down the greyscale to see how the effect of softening the contrast looks. My second though after looking at them all again: Have you ever used backpainted glass? You get the subtle reflections but the color of your choice. It can be very effective.[image: v7xW_Screenshot2011-12-22at6.42.29AM.png] There are specific paints available now, but we used to do it by using a clear auto body undercoat primer and lacquer sprayed onto the back of glass. Cheers and Merry Christmas.

No, when you register for the trial they give you a 35% discount if you purchase within 24hrs. Then 20% if you purchase within the following 24hrs. It does very good crunching but like all poly-reducers it can cause quite a mess if you go overboard. The strange thing with Polycruncher is that when you launch 3D PhotoBrowser and select the model you want to crunch it then launches a second application for the crunching. Makes you wonder why not just make it standalone?

@unknownuser said: The second looks just wrong, especially around the stairs. No I'm no rendering expert but these don't give a sense of DOF. this is what I wanted to know. the DOF is just NOT believable. @tridem said: I agree, actually the scene itself have not a depth of field that justifies the blur, almost all the main objects have the same distance from the camera. You could obtain a realistic blur effect using the sketchup fog as zdepth mask to be applied in photoshop http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDzNJYi6Bok Yes, you are right. I completely forgot to this teqnique method. thx for remind me it. You can download model of the staircase at http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=766ade000f7c6165babc8956356bfae7 Thx for reply. Cheers.

Great to see that you are defending the design and have given so much thought to our comments. Here is a picture of someone who also had a great idea and through the process of (RE) design ended up changing the world. As the saying goes... "IF at first you don't succeed TRY TRY again".... Build a full size prototype sit in it. Have a well built fellow "AKA someone like me with a beer gut" push on the side of the end rib at top curve with the intent of pushing over the rib...and then you can decide was the structural analysis software correct or not. It appears from your OP post you have the 3ds file. If so try importing to mesh lab and you can then reduce the number of vertices. Do it 1/2 at each step and take a look at the model to see if it is of the quality you'll accept Select re-mesh simplification and reconstruction Quadratic edge collapse decimiation Select optimal position of simplified vertices, post simplification cleaning , quality to 1 Note you can input the number you want

I usually have a 'hidden' layer setup by default, and place all those boundary lines on that and just turn it off.
