@tig said: You can't BUT you could change the section lines to be thin [1] with a color to match the main background [e.g. white] - edit/make a new Style... aaaah those little little things.... thanks a lot

@mwm5053 said: Welcome to the forums. This place SCF is by far the best place to get help when you need it. I learned SU from a woodworker named Joe Zey at http://www.srww.com/blog/?p=1335 . Great videos Also go to Fine Woodworking Blog Design Click Build one of the contributors DaveR is a regular here. That's who I learned from. I learned thru his tutorial videos. I'll have to check out some of the rendering programs listed once I get better at SU.

Wow. It looks like you're doing very well and have all the understanding you need to knock the rest out in short order. If you have more specific problems or questions, post back. Details are usually enabling. Other people's deadlines are always a problem, though.

I've got no excuse. I've been out clubbing with friends and the time change has thrown me. I'm trying to resist turning on my PC as I'll probably end up modelling all night. With my user name I was trying to mix up my real name with an interest with Egyptology, but only recently realised that it was a pretty common Japanese name. It seems to catch a lot of people out. When the haze has cleared, it would still be good to hear if you have any thoughts on the truangulation issue. Think of it as splitdonut in reverse.

Thank you so much Dave, I will try all you said since I do have to learn to do it by myself.

Dukejazz, Thanks for that. I did draft a post saying I'd solved the problem, but I must have forgotten to hit "submit" For anyone else with the same requirements, here's the procedure that worked for me: Download Make Faces from here: http://www.smustard.com/script/MakeFaces and install Explode the drawing twice (like you say) DON'T group the exploded lines to form shapes (tried that, and it prevented the next step from working) Use Tools>Make Faces to create faces from the spaces bounded by the lines Push/pull as usual So I'm a happy bunny Steve

After 3 years HeadsUp UV layout still the best way for me to texture some geometries even though some times I have problems exporting and importing uvs not to menthion that I can't save the unwrapping/texturing for another day. does any one have similiar problem? I have noticed in the last catchup ed19 that mr Obrien is also using Blender and reality paint. Whats the best method for you to unwrap geometry for texturing this days? Thx for any comment.

Thank you Dave Thank you Gaieus Thank you Sonder I will not be rendering the scenes with an outside rendering application and I also want to keep the model dynamic for further design developemant so this leads me to using scenes in layout as you suggest. Thank you for other ideas also. Paul

Yeah, works for me too. Not sure why they haven't listed the bearings the conventional way though (ie, degees east or west of North or south. Cheers.

They will both update the current scene-tab. However, in the dialog you can select more than one scene and update several aspects of them at once, and of course you can check/uncheck certain aspects so that only certain things are 'saved/remembered'. Usually each tab will save [remember] all of its settings like its camera etc. But in my 'Troubleshooting' tab only another style is invoked whilst the camera is not affected, so changing to that tab leaves the view unchanged but changes other aspects like line styles etc... Updating a tab should only be done after careful consideration, especially if it's linked into Layout...

I'm going to assume Joe wishs to share a drawing with some one that cannot currently view it in either .skp or cad file format. Joe if that is the case blink your left eye twice. seriously...most people can view jpg images which you can use by exporting the view of your model as a jpg or...you can use a "print to pdf" application if you are familiar. I use pdf995 there are others available.
