Hi Guys, I'm trying to do similar. Is there a way to write a script that could delete all items that get called in outliner per search term. I am trying to clean up a model for rendering provided by a client. The file has every bathroom, sink, door, light, etc for thousands of apartments. Unless I explode everything I have to delete by each level I have managed to separate everything into. Currently I have to go through each definition X each building X each level. Each time I select and delete it takes like 5 minutes. I have already spent a day doing this. It's getting really tedious. [image: yEC5_Capture.JPG]

Make sure View > Hidden Geometry is ON. Select the edges delineating the various 'ridges'. Use the native tools like Move, or Rotate, or Scale etc to manipulate the ridges as desired. You may need to hold the Alt-key to force auto-fold in some situations... It's something you need to 'play' with to realize the potentials...

Bill, hopefully it is clear that 3D Text is geometry just like the parcel and building footprint lines in your model. The geometry does come in as components. Peter's suggestion to make separate scenes and image exports for the model and the text is a great way to manage this. You can create a separate layer for the 3D text and turn that layer off for the view of the model. then turn off the layer(s) for the model and turn on the 3D text to create a second scene and then export both as images which you'll combine in post process.

Thanks Kris for this info. Rich has done some work on this end of things and will be launching something once we have the site revamp completed.

Evermotion Archinteriors won't work in SU. Way to big. You can use them in Max or Cinema 4D. Greetz Twan

@mike amos said: Trying to rotate a simple cube along a path, any ideas? I have searched the forums and found reference to a plug-in which is apparently no longer available. Ta. As an animation? What kind of path? Straight? Curved? Single segment? Multi-segment? Component Stringer requires you to pre-select the path and component before executing the plugin. It places a copy of the component at the beginning of each segment.

Thank you, Peter. The output size (and the viewing size) does indeed affect the appearance of the lines. The larger the output size, the thinner and in this case harder the lines appear. [image: OPLF_export.png] Here's an example. I used the same line style, the Straight 2B Pencil from above, and made a series of exports at different sizes. The smallest was 800 pixels wide which shows on the left. I then resized the larger images so they are all the same size. As you can see, by changing the export size you can vary the appearance of a single line style quite dramatically. I often export lines at a larger size than the rest of the model so I can make the lines very thin. This also allows me to manipulate the image/textures and so on without affecting the lines.

Chris is right, use Tigs objexporter, iv done this in the past and it works just great, but be sure model your topology with tris correctly in sketchup before mapping as other 3d software will create tris in your topology, this will then mess up your mapping, Fbx will work with maya alot better than 3DS max, so there is another option, and as for game engines unity is your best option, it works well with tris, not like UDK or cryengine that require you to use quads when making models and as you know that doesn't work out so well in sketchup

I was hoping not having to create the terrain from scratch. In any case I believe that you can't have better precision for Altitude than 70 m between curves level!

You should look through some plugins from Thomthom, e.g. Plan tools Edge Tools Cleanup For multiple push pull you can use Joint Push Pull from Fredo6.

Just wanted to say. I use Octaine with TIG's exporter. Works fine! Got an gtx 580 as graphiccard. Strength - You see quite rapidly where you're going in the render. I often use an ambient occlusion "sneeky render" that's very fast and gives good enough results, at least for me. There are different rendermethods to choose between. And an online database of materials where you can drag and drop from the menu. So easy setup if you're not a perfectionist. Also node-based interface, but one doesent have to bother about that if one doesent want to.. Another thing, if you are a paying costumer you will get full access to the whole site with bigger forum where you can get beta and test versions. There's quite some activity going on there. Can't tell how mature the software is yet, compared to for ex Thea. Octaine requires a good graphiccard.
