    • RE: Higher Resolution Illustrations Wanted

Thanks, for some reason I was thinking I could not go as high as 4 or 5,000. I set it to 4,000 and it looks much better.

One of these days I am going to have to get SketchUp Pro. I know it is much better suited for my needs and I am thinking I could do a full plan in LayOut.

But for now, my deadline on this project means I'll have to stick with Publisher.

The plan will be at http://www.sawtoothideas.com

    • Higher Resolution Illustrations Wanted

I am creating an illustration for a woodworking plan using SketchUp. I need to export an image and want one that is more crisp.

Here is the .png image set at 2750 px wide...

I am using Microsoft Publisher to assemble the document and this is what I am shooting for...

The SketchUp image looks good, but I want it to be a little less distorted. Any suggestions?

Solo - thanks, but I don't know what you mean by "show lines/hidden geometry and pick a face it will appear" - how do i do that?

    • Wood texture problem

I am building a model of a side table and have imported a wood texture and painted it on a closed component. For some reason, when I go to adjust position of the texture, this option is not available when right clicking the opened component. See the image and note that there is no texture option. I made sure that the image was imported as a texture and even tried doing the same operation with a stock SketchUp wood texture. I am using Version 8. Help!

    • RE: Upload to 3D Warehouse error message

Well, you are the first to take the time to help me, so thank you! But, how do I shrink the file size?

    • RE: Upload to 3D Warehouse error message

The .kmz file is 15 mb. The error was just a drawing error, something I did not like the look of in the model itself, not like a data error. It would seem to me if the file size of the model or the thumbnail for instance was too big, Google would return with an error message specific to that. I get noting - just that the internet connection failed as if there is no web page for my browser to go to.

    • Upload to 3D Warehouse error message

I have tried repeatedly to upload a model to the 3D Warehouse. I have tried to do this from five different pc's both at my home, at a local restaurant using their WIFI and from my mother's house. I go through the process of filling in all the file information on the upload page, hit upload and I get this error message:

"The webpage at http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/upload?uptyp=mn might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
      Error 103 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_ABORTED): Unknown error."

Since I have attempted this from a variety of different computers at various locations, I have to conclude that this is a problem with Google not liking what I am sending. Yet I get no error message like file size is too large from Google, all I get is the above message from my browser. When I ask the web browser to run a diagnostic it finds that the internet connection is working correctly. I have tried this using a variety of Internet Explorer browsers as well as Google Crome.

Does anybody know how to fix my problem?
