Sketchup to game
-
Hy guys I got a bit of a problem Im trying to make models to import into a game the thing is u have to first transfer the models to 3ds max since its the only program that can transform them into the right file but when i try to texter and when I uw unwrap its just spawns random triagle shapes across the model and from 2 components I get like 50 any way I can stop that?
Thx -
One punctuation mark in that entire post. Wow!
I'm not even sure what you are asking.

@Dave hehehe, too true.
It might be ther way you are exporting into 3dsmax. What file format are you using? How are you unwrapping in 3dsmax? Do you have a lot of experience with that?

First of sry for bad english.Im a gamer in general and most of the time I don't have time to watch how I type so it kinda infected the rest of my typing.And i first convert to dae then to fbx and then to 3ds max

Wow, that's a lot of steps. Is it necessary to do that? I'm guessing you have SketchUp free version, so .dae is the only option, yeah? I would guess you might have better luck if you use TIG's .obj exporter. It does a great job exporting to obj and 3dsmax imports it well.

Chris is right, use Tigs objexporter, iv done this in the past and it works just great, but be sure model your topology with tris correctly in sketchup before mapping as other 3d software will create tris in your topology, this will then mess up your mapping, Fbx will work with maya alot better than 3DS max, so there is another option, and as for game engines unity is your best option, it works well with tris, not like UDK or cryengine that require you to use quads when making models and as you know that doesn't work out so well in sketchup
