TIG: Did as you say, and that solved my problem and also got my slices in a better shape (due to the size of the model). I upgraded the plugin to Slicer5 and Im enjoying it even more Jean: And now I can atlast get rid of these colours ! I'm glad I made an account here, you can't expect any better support than this. Hopefully in the future I can provide the same support as you guys do. Cheers!

'On Ground' Shadows Setting was checked and yes there are Ground Level Issues. Just started introducing Contours and used Sandbox for the first time a couple of days ago (what a great feature Sandbox is). Thanks again. Panic over. Regards, Andrew

Sketchup won't seem to let me change the aspect ratio for some reason. I can either change the Width or Height but not both or I can use the screen resolution which didn't work either.

@chris fullmer said: Please don't start a general question thread and reuse it. We prefer new threads with appropriate topics. Its so much easier to search through later, making it easier for people who look for the same thing in a few months to be able to find the correctly titled thread, thanks! Ok no problem, just felt a bit of a douchebag to start a thread everytime google/U is of no help. Jean, that would be a neat idea, but I guess choosing the axis with holding down the click is the easiest way.

I see. I used a screen capture application too last night to try it. Save it as png. Haven't try to use it in a model though. I thought you could use any of those webpage's buttons. Thank you.

I remember seeing a webpage explaining how to get this information. I did find this however, which might be a starting point. http://www.flickr.com/photos/swilsonmc/2543157901/ Rob

I don't see why it would be a problem if you have a printer to handle it. Create a scene showing the section of whatever you need for your story pole. Send the SU file to LayOut, set the paper to the needed dimensions, set the viewport to 1:1, make a PDF and send it to the printer. Easy enough. I regularly make 1:1 patterns for cabinets and other projects as part of plan documents. They are printed on paper that is 36" by 48".

This reminds me of a connector I put together for a project a few years back for ridge and valley timbers over a log post. Didn't have the luxury of a plasma cutter though, so it was hand fabricated. It was pretty much mostly buried anyway but it made for an interesting structure. These kinds of details are fun to design. [image: c0wt_Picture2.png]

Here is my piktogramm to determine the degrees of edges on selected surfaces. I would like to select only edges following to the condition of structure. Mullion is random degree except 180 degrees , and transom is only 180 degrees. Thank you kindly [image: OppN_CW_programicon.jpg]

Thanks for the replies guys. I am aware of make unique, it's just a shame to lose the benefits of components. I'd like to be able to group a bunch of components and paint them all with one huge map. I don't think this is going to happen.

I realise that, Simon. yes, it certainly can be done. Just make sure you have enough construction geometry drawn onto the terrain before unwrapping it...otherwise it's going to be pretty featureless and difficult to judge what to paint where on the map.

My wish list is pretty basic: Provide a way to draw circles & polygons starting from an edge instead of from the center (like most 2D vector drawing programs can do). Likewise, provide a way to draw rectangles starting from their centers. Allow the cursor keys to constrain the plane of rotation of the rotate tool along the red, green, or blue axis, similar to how they set constraints for the move tool. Similarly, allow the cursor keys to set the plane for drawing out rectangles, polygons, arc bulges, & so on. Additional selection tools, modeled after the oval, polygon, & selection brushes in Photoshop, plus an option to limit what they select to visible faces and/or edges.

In the end it turned out that there was a mass of dust that had basically become compressed into a block of felt, obstructing the cooling vents in such a way as to be -very- difficult to see save from just the right angle. So, mystery solved. Thanks guys!
