Making panoramic images

Just wondering if anybody has tried, or if its even possible to save or make a panoramic image using the photo textures tool in Sketchup.
The images are already panoramic, but it seems you can only select regions of them for texturing puposes. Be cool if you could save them to use as backgrounds. -
I remember seeing a webpage explaining how to get this information. I did find this however, which might be a starting point.
