Hi Jim Thank you so much for getting this door to work correctly. Having a sizeable door will save me a lot of time when modelling. I'm pretty new at DC's so I really appreciate someone with your expertise helping me. I'll also use this door as a template to build a sizeable drawer front with 1 1/2" rails and 2 1/2" stiles. Thanks again, Woodwork 101

I rework it and now it's a closed shell volume: by these steps I started wuth the car body draw with line tool and close the volume [image: QUms_pic_0157.jpg] I copy and offset scaled by 1/16 inch as before with scaleGroupFloat_dj scaleGroupFloat_dj will create an offset call "shell". the settings shown ealier above 4 ) I then vector push-pull the wheels acoss [image: 9SJc_pic_0158.jpg] 5) right click and used context intersect face to model cut away [image: qXVC_pic_0159.jpg] and then cut the bottom interial face of the car [image: EKWf_pic_0161.jpg] @unknownuser said: by marvins_dad » February 27th, 2013, 9:36 am Is there a ruby out there that will create an offset or "shell". I have a car shell... 1/6" thick lightweight ... The problem is ... the programs won't simply print along a plane with zero thickness. and now marvins The Answer: yes- Use scaleGroupFloat_dj.rb and a vector push-pull tool (=to SU push-pull then one end exploded face move by the move tool) by the process above you get this car+body16_dj.skp

Gerrit is correct. You can't see textures on faces outside of the current context when editing a component or group.

@pbacot said: Looking back to your first post, if a flat blade is what you are after, and the edges can all be coplanar. Do your drawing on a surface, like the face of a rectangle, to help be sure it is coplanar. Make the component after you've done most of your work making the face. Yeah, I think the 2 arcs were not coplanar AND I didn't create a face. It works now. I just got to make it pretty. Thanks for everyone's help,

I see. Thank you for opinions and suggestions. Actually, I have several Windows tweaker applications here. Three of them left. Those have that registry checking ability. CCleaner, Advanced System Care and TweakMe, which is do nothing but to use standard windows utility that usually hidden from common user. I always make backups too. Thanks again
