I think I ended up bodging it. LOL - I finally got a response on the Enscape forum that helped me create what I needed within Enscape. I had Sun Shadows raytracing turned off. Didn't know that was a switch I could turn on and off. It kept me from having to learn Vray for another project at least!
I stacked a window glazing system with a transmittance of 51% with a plane that had 20% transmittance to see if there was a change. With sun raytracing on, it worked!

The first group of images are of a complex for Grand Praire, Texas - their new Public Safety Building and Senior Recreation Facility. We specialize in both of these building types. They are both situated on 5 man made lakes sitting on 1 square mile site.
Public Safety building:
Used SketchUp and Kerkythea.
And finished building images.

Bryan~Texas, if you were in Bryan, Texas...hope you never have to visit our Project there...Bryan Justice Center
I started working right when they were finished designing the exterior so I did some work on visualizing the interior...but that was pre-SketchUp (3dViz).

RE: Marvins_dad's Gallery
The rest were all modeled in SketchUp (with some Revit core parts) and rendered with Twilight.

I did a competition for Rockwall's Memorial - since I had an idea while designing the building, figured it was worth the time to enter the competition myself.
Sketchup, Twilight and Photoshop...

RE: Marvins_dad's Gallery
Another competition - that I'm sure a few people from here might have entered.
Who's Next - about 98% of the images were done with SketchUp in that competition.
SketchUp, Twilight and PhotoShop. (have you started to understand why I don't spend a lot of time on SketchUcationtoo busy taking on these damn competitions)

RE: Enscape to V-Ray for realistic shadows through glass with 3m Film?
I had ray-tracing turned off for the sun - didn't know that was a thing. - So, was able to solve the problem in Enscape.

@Rich-O-Brien Thanks Rich! LOL - they had a free "Taco Bar" at the ribbon cutting, does that count?

Enscape to V-Ray for realistic shadows through glass with 3m Film?
I'm in a bit of a tangle.
I have been working with Enscape for the entirety of this project and we have come to a place where the client wants to occupy the building past the time they originally stated they would.
Because of this the sun angles are letting the light through towards the end of the day and causing a glare on the backwall of the meeting space.
I have been charged with testing 3M film that has the ability to cut the amount of "Visible Light Transmitted". Looking to see if 20% of VLT will take away the glare.
In the post below on the Enscape forum I have been asking how to do that in the Enscape platform, but I have hit a wall with that product and wonder if V-Ray is capable of taking on the task.Realistic Glass tint material - need help - Enscape
I'm trying to create glass material that mimics the real world. We have a project where we are looking at applying a 3M product to the glass to reduce the amount of light is transmitted through the glass. These have a Visible Light Transmittedβ¦
Enscape (forum.enscape3d.com)
Has anyone ever utilized the architectural glass settings to do something like this or does anyone know if it is capable?
I like the idea that I might be able to move from one program to the other and might be able to save time instead of starting fresh with a completely different platform...but how realistic would this workflow be?
Thanks for any responses!

Really great! I wish I had the talent/skill to do stuff like this.
How long does it take to draw models like this and what tools/plugins do you use?
Again:
It's a constant tweaking for 2-3 months for most of these. We typically meet with the client every 2 weeks during Schematics and update the exterior/interior model as we go. I use the royal we, but I'm doing the SketchUp and presentations.
I've been taking on more and more responsibilities over the design direction with each project.I've been using minimal plugins, but Windowizer gets reinstalled with every upgrade. I rely on that heavily for quick designwork.
Was an early adopter of Lumion starting at Lumion v1..we still carry a copy of that. I utilize Thea Render when I want really good looking stills and know we aren't going to do a fly around. I finally caved in and started to use Enscape on these last few projects because another Architect we were working with wanted to match interior/exterior feel.
