SU uses an older UVQ mapping method that isn't really the norm these days.
  • Any plugin for Luminance simulation in SU?

Take a look at a couple of the last entries in this recent sketchucation post showing renders with the new denoising and enhanced materials for 1.3 http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=80%26amp;t=57758%26amp;start=60#p566928

@ely862me said: Funny thing, Box's advice didn't work for me but what I said worked ! Mainly I think it is about glued or not. That must be because of cutting edge's plan VS insertion points VS axis VS face to glue on. EDIT: Sometimes the components are just slightly off face. In these cases they might still glue to face and cut opening but Sketchup will start asking if you want to fix the model. It says it fixes but it doesn't and keeps going on like this... Everything will work ok but section cut faces won't be perfect... You can just ignore warnings in model info.

Thank you very much Not only is the written information very useful in understanding dynamic components better, but the model (which works perfectly) gives me something to deconstruct and reference to for future models. Dynamic components has a steep learning curve but am slowly grasping the basics with practise and help from people like yourself. Your time and patience is greatly appreciated. Thank you again

Must say though I did not like the privacy policy of your site and the preapproval for paypal requirement. Mike Not his privacy policy, Gum road hosts his products, it's their policy. Let us know how the tutorial goes.

@tig said: What units did you use for the DWG import ? Using the incorrect options setting can exacerbate the tiny geometry issue... Alternatively importing a mm DWG as if it were meters will make the facets x1000 bigger and likely avoid disaster. When it's in OK, you can [re]orient the faces consistently outwards, and finally Scale down in 2 steps - 0.1 and 0.01 to achieve the 1\1000 th reduction... The units are in mm, I did makes sure the import happens with correct scale and I did cross checked the measurements and they are correct, both in AutoCAD and in Sketchup. But I will give it a shot by increasing the scale to see if I can avoid that. Thank you!

Well can you make a rectangle and pushpull it and make a group, Then make the next rectangle etc. Grouping the drawn geometry as you go? The selectiontoys idea only works if you are trying to separate faces from misc. edges without faces--which I thought you meant.

Kristina, your image doesn't show because it is linked to your computer. You need to either upload it here or to an online photo album first.

@ely862me said: This kind of CNC. Took me a while to build and it is still far from complete. The Z axis travel should be over 350mm, X is 1750mm and Y is 1100mm. These are my first real attempts. Some models done for my sister in law - she's a kindergarten teacher. And a stepper motor cover done in foam- just for testing the code. Sorry to somehow hijacking the thread. No I invited the thread jack. That is a very badass CNC btw. Here are some pics of the final product. Definitely room for improvement but overall it came out very well, client happy etc.. Thank you for all the help guys, It really was invaluable! [image: OnXQ_IMG_0248.JPG] [image: Xdas_IMG_0246.JPG]

~~ @rich o brien said: @dave use the beta forum to log snags but there's been a change in scene mode. in SU if you have a scene with camera location set to NOT SAVE then in EDG3D that scene is a free rotate mode. most of your other points will need chatting elsewhere Please delete my prior post. I also just saw the post from Gabor and just downloaded the plugin again and am trying again. Did not notice that this was not the beta forum. Please delete this and my prior post and I will readdress on the beta forum.~~ My apology. My original posts were incorrect and in the wrong forum.
