Seems to be a saving to network thing. Exporting to my desktop worked. Hmmm. Simlab worked because it saves the maps to a location in your plugins folder. The other nice thing about Simlab is that when you import the FBX, each object is its own in MAX and not a single group with a multisub material applied. Not sure of the advantage/disadvantage though. Just testing a SU to Max workflow that would allow for a linked file.

It may not work the way you'd like it to but it isn't a bug. It's the way the toolbar manager was designed to work. While it might be more convenient to be able to make multi-column toolbars, the benefits of this toolbar manager over the old one make this a very tiny inconvenience. The major benefit of this new toolbar manager is that it prevents the toolbar scramble that was prevalent in SU8 and before. Try making the SU8 window smaller and then drag it out larger again. Do that in SU2015. Big difference. You can also customize the native toolbars and make your own. I've omitted Dimensions and other text tools along with Pan and Orbit from mine giving me more real estate for other tools.

Smooth/Soft edges gives a rounded appearance between two facets - typically used when the facets form a 'surface'. Hidden edges are not displayed - the junction between two facets is sharp. Having View > Hidden-Geometry ON lets you see such edges as dotted line styles, You can apply these properties to selected edges, but if you want all of the edges in the model to be unseen. then it's easy - make/use a style which has the edges option unchecked. EDIT: Dave beat me to the line ! Your working style will need edges showing to let you draw and edit things but your animation scene-tabs can use the edgeless style...

@sdmitch said: @littleche said: yes! How did you do? There is a "bug" in the current version that is prone to have this error when 45 rotation is used. It doesn't always fail. I'm hoping to corrected and updated version soon. thanks sdmitch . You and other SU plug-in developers Are very, very dear For me and other Members sketch up . Ok, I see what's happening. I cannot edit the library of materials. That's the way it should be. I am able to edit any materials that are used in the model, which is also the way it should be. All is well! Thanks.

First, if it bug splats, send the error report, and ideally open a support ticket including a file with the problem so they can take a look. This is the way that bugs (eventually) get fixed, though obviously that's not going to help you in the short term. I have no idea what the actual problem is, but here are some vague things that may help you: Reboot your PC. It works more often than it should. Play around with your SketchUp preferences, there might be something in there causing a problem. Download and run CCleaner, it will wipe your caches, that might help if you're lucky. Reinstall SketchUp. Check your hardware, there are various utilities online for different components. It's unlikely, but faulty hardware is a possible cause.

You could also go on to Layout and have more control over .dwg export, and less control... but you could use the layers there. Kenny's method is better...

What rendering program are you using? Can you post a sample SKP file that exhibits this? Maybe a screen shot of the SketchUp model? A screen shot of the rendered image? Give us something useful. Help us help you.

@box said: There are many ways, but you might need to be more specific about what you need. Rich's tutorial on the very basics may be enough to get you going. http://sketchucation.com/resources/tutorials/beginner/24-how-to-make-a-spiral-stair Then again you could make the stairs straight and use shape bender to curve it. http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=clf_shape_bender_v055 Or have a go with one of the Stair Maker plugins http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=gkware_stairmaker http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=Stair_Maker and a simple one using Fredo's Radial Bend, part of Fredo Scale. Thanks BOX All of them are usefull to me
