No, it's a Sketchup exporter to Vue. Just upgraded my PLE to 2014 Vue. it seems a bit faster and more stable, has navigation customization. other than that have no played much.

I just now read on the Chaos Group forum that with DR, each bucket calculates all the irmap passes individually, so you don't see the multiple pass with DR enabled. It is expected behavior apparently. http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthread.php?80428-Only-one-irradiance-map-pass-! (registration required)

@sketchuh said: Thanks Ted for the comment. and I did contact sales and support from chaosgroup! But the sad reality is They did tell me I have to pay for a new license fee, because its due to abuse of dongle license use. I think it really applies to Asian market. I told them it's not fair and it doesn't make sense. It really hurts customers at the end. a policy can be bad. you have to be brave enough to tell them it's wrong. I still don't like that policy at all, even though I really enjoying using vray for su. I'm glad I found my dongle at the end. There are some specific requirements that have to be met for us to replace the Dongle. I think your case was a special one which is why we were not going to replace it. I'm going to send you a PM with some more specific instructions.

hi andy, thanks for the reply. I tried another render with everything you suggested (except linear color mapping & resetting the gamma), and I even moved the TV stand 1mm further from the wall (which mathematically should resolve the same normals problem), but it looks almost the same and it took two minutes longer to render Also, I need to add, that in my previous post I ended with 32 subdivisions on the dome light; I'll probably edit that in. The video is correct the only difference is that on a Mac the Preferences is in a slightly different place. @unknownuser said: Select Window > Preferences (Microsoft Windows) or SketchUp > Preferences (Mac OS X). The Preferences dialog box is displayed. Click on Extensions. The Extensions panel is displayed. Click on the Install Extension button. The Open dialog box is displayed. Locate the Ruby zip file to install (.rbz). Click on the Open button. You just need to download the .rbz file and install it using the preferences dialog. Don't put it in the plugins folder. Also be aware that the location of the plugins folder has changed with SU2014. I'm not a mac user so I can't tell you where it is, but it may explain your issue with other plugins not working correctly. It would help if you filled in your profile too.

@andybot said: @jpmorla said: ^^ Actually, I think I do not need to try render with materials overwritten. See, different groups/components render (or do not render) depending on the scene. So I do not think the problem is a material issue. I think this is a VRAY bug. You would do best to upgrade to the latest version and service pack. There have been numerous bug fixes since this issue first came to light. This are my specs: OS: Windows 7 SU PRO 2014 VRAY 2.00.24942 If I am correct, I am using the latest service pack.

@andybot said: when you have a very bright background, the color will be picked up by the anitaliasing at the transparent edges of your render. A few things you can do. quickest is in photoshop - go to layer --> matting --> defringe, and use default 1 pixels make your background environment darker to match your underlying image. hide your background materials in your render (in the material properties, check the option for showing only in secondary.) You can then use your background image in your vray viewport by setting it as the environment background, and use "screen" mapping. Thank you - I have used enviroment photo and defringe in PS and both together works

I got some topo from GE for a little side thing a few years ago, it was useful but am not sure how accurate it was, it was the GE free version. I think that kind of info is probably best to get through GE pro (not 100% sure what it's called, but the paid version anyway).

Yes! small objects that are processed by native tools [e.g. FollwMe] OR plugins making meshes etc can fail to make tiny facets, if they would have edges <1/1000" long. SketchUp's in-built tolerance assumes the two point specified for such tiny edge's ends are coincident. Therefore the tiny edge is not make and the face that needed it fails to be created too. If you Scale your original object up by say 100, then the smaller facets will still be big enough to get made. Afterwards you just Scale back down to the desired size. The tiny facets will survive that Scaling down - tiny geometry can exist - but SketchUp can't create it initially.
