@caecarvalho said: Will be possible to create a library with OBJ or 3ds models to use with it? I have no plan for this right now. Although, it will have a library system supporting SKP models, and therefore proxies for rendering engines. @caecarvalho said: What about the forest color? Is it possible to implement something like that? (A map that you put inside the diffuse slot to create color variations in the texture per object) No forest color like in forest pack, but at some point I will add the ability to randomly assign materials to the scattered objects. Something like forest color would have to happen on the render engine's part, on which I have no control. @caecarvalho said: The representation of the forest objects will be with colored point clouds as well? Is it even possible in SU? I think it's possible, I will definitly try to do it in the future. But for the first public release, it will only be simple representation (bouding boxes and such) @caecarvalho said: If you need a beta tester!! I'll PM you. Sneak peak from the latest alpha update: (All the grass is generated only at render time, there is only the white plane in Sketchup) [image: 3pmG7JA.jpg]

Also check to see Use Color Texture as Transparency is checked off for that material. If this is on, then it will not recognize the transparency from SU.

Well I think this reflects real life photography as well. On bright sunny days, the exposure outside will be a lot brighter than inside (assuming no major sunlamps inside). The range of exposure for a camera (aka rendering) is a lot lower than the human eye. So if I were sitting outside the window looking in I would personally see something similar to Picture 2. But if I were to take a photograph of it, it would probably look more like Picture 3. Rob

Kim Frederik, That's a worthy comment to read and something to think about. Perhaps, if I can obtain a Thea for Max version, I will do exactly that for the future. I'm not in the position to invest more... but, that sounds great. Thank you. I know there is still a solution for this somehow... but, this sounds like a great band-aide. Peter, thanks for the intervention. Much appreciated.

tisk tisk tisk. I'd rather pay for 2.0 in 2015 than use bootleg 1.49.02. God 1.49 version was the pits...

Hi again! As a mac user I`d like to know how to resize the nodes (like "endpoint", "midpoint",etc) because they all are pretty tiny and it i difficult to see whileI work on SU. Thanks in advance. PD How can I post a new subject on the forum?

Default GI presets have changed in different versions since version 1.x up to now. Add a V-Ray plane under chairs In environment tab,in front of "GI", check that if the "m" is "M" then it has a "Sky map" that is called "Tex_Sky", set it to none, so that , you see the "m" sign ( not capital M). render again Aside of these , if you are going to save a huge time in learning , you may find my ebook, as a handy tool.

Do NOT simple copy the Plugins folder contents. There were many updates to Plugins over the last year or more to suit Ruby2 - used since v2014. You should install all available versions of your Plugins from the PluginStore... The SketchUcation PluginStore dialog lets you Auto-Install - you can copy a v2015 Plugins folder safely to another v2015 installation... A very few Plugins have not been updated to suit Ruby2, so they are unlikely to work in v2015. You can but test those that are not available in the SCF PluginStore, EWHouse etc and ask... If in doubt contact the Plugin's author directly... Most of the mainstream authors have updated their scripts over the last year or so... So those should be OK. Also, e.g. with his permission I have recently updated many of Didier Bur's scripts to suit all available SUp versions... So those are definitely the ones to get... Browse the PluginStore to see the updates........ EDIT: In the example error-code you provide the error is quite clearly explained... @dlg.add_action_callback("init"){|**@dlg**, param|...... To fix it rename it ' dlg', if it's used anywhere inside the {} [which is unlikely] then change those references to match... I suspect that most of the other errors will be fixed by getting the proper [latest] versions of the scripts...

If you are using single plane glass, just make a material that has just a reflection layer and not refraction layer. I think what you read meant to set the refraction IOR to 1.0, which is basically the same has not having one at all. In the reflection layer, I use Fresnel IOR set to 1.4 and edit the Fresnel to not use pure and white black. Adjust them just a little up and down.

Thank you very very much for your help everyone. I really appreciate it. I'm doing some naval architecture calcs. Might post the results when it's done. thank you!

The video is using V-Ray 1.49. 2.0 works a little differently and needs the Diffuse map to pull UVW information from the geometry.

We tested a solution shortly. We combined SketchUp & LightUp and made the walk through with edddison. Please read a tut how to do http://edddison.com/improve-quality-sketchup-lightup-walkthrough-edddison/ Thomas

@dkendig said: Those materials are definitely not very recent. We changed the extension of our material format to .vrmat sometime in the past year or two. We changed from a binary to xml based format about 4 years ago also, which caused some compatibility issues. There were huge archives of user made materials being passed around, before our own material library grew to the size it is today, it's possible that these older materials are from before our switch to xml. Hi, I'm having trouble with the materials I've downloaded from your website. When applied to geometry they display black and all the texture seems to be pointing to "C:\Users\fpedrogo\Documents\V-Ray Materials" Plus where can you download VRay express for SU? Thanks Carlo

@john2 said: and what about the Studio-Roosegaarde-Solar-Bike-Path-Van-Gog image? How is that made in vray? too many lights? That should be pretty simple to do with an emmissive material. Once you have an image of the pattern, just stick it in an emmissive layer. Make sure anything that's not lit is pure black, or else you may end up with some undesired glow. (you could mask the emmissive layer to make sure that doesn't happen.)
