the link to the image file has been broken. V-ray can no longer find the source file. the new version has a file path editor that will help you fix this. go to extensions/vray and look for file path editor.

I don't think we've ever licensed anything, just used the free download from the Website. We've never used the Pro version, and I thought all the other versions were free. It was just SketchUp 2015, 2016, and then it went to "2017 Make" this year.

You must use your SketchUcation member's name to try to login: NOT your email address. Then use the membership's password... If you have 'forgotten' either of these send a separate email or PM to one of us... I see the memebership-name associated with your email is 'Blevins64'. Your password is your own - we can't access it - but we could reset it, if you want... Gábor is our IT guru... Let us know... PS: You could try deleting your Internet Explorer cache [ sometimes used by dialogs in SketchUp] in case something got screwed up ! ] Then restart SketchUp...

Thanks for the feedback. Definitely, you MUST NOT quit Sketchup when Animator is started, whther you exited temporarily. This is a limitation which I'll try to resolve. Are you able to create cameras? Fredo

@jql said: That feudalism was based on these things: war, power, money and leisure. Romans who had power, dedicated to leisure and paid other people to do war for them. Those mercenaries got successful and got promoted into power. And a successful predemocratic culture gave birth to a powerful war culture. Culture is always there but in certain contexts, certain forms of culture are more valid than others. The culture of leisure is everywhere in our society and employs a lot of freelancers. The culture of war is hidden away from society's eyes but it's still there and very present. I wonder how long will we be able to keep it away. I've heard some other factors to the "fall" of the empire if not feudalism: failure to assimilate (that is fully accept and empower) tribes who were doing the warring/security for the rich Romans in the end, and intolerance in general. Sound familiar?

New B3D version 3.0.0 released this week *To make your life better we created a brand new version of brighter3d using Visual Studio 2017 and latest raytracing engine, for you with more features: SketchUp 2019 fully supported. This version and all future versions are 64 bit only, giving us the possibility to utilize all your computer memory. Introducing 360 camera rendering (for online view and Virtual Reality). Superfast export of your scenes, with texture cache for the second and all following renders (your scenes will start to render faster than you can open them in SketchUp itself). We've added a refresh button inside the rendering window (to speed up rendering different views without having to re-export the materials and geometry). New license system: now you can revoke the license on one computer and activate it on another. Render scene views: this feature allows you to setup several views (scene tabs) and render them easily one after another once you have set the required number of iterations. You can prepare say 20 scene views and render them over night. As always this update and all future updates are free for all PRO version users.* I used the new 360 Panorama render for the model in the post above: https://roundme.com/tour/365605/view/1245216

My [free] SectionCutFace works fine in all current SketchUp versions. It is quite different to the new v2018 simplistic section-face tool. Its section-cuts are editable, its faces can be colored individually etc... But if you want total flexibility for section-cuts then I suggest that you buy Skalp...

Yeah, I hear ya...you would have loved trying to figure out the settings in Vray 1.48 then! Made you feel more like a nasa engineer than a 3d artist..they've really simplified things lately. But yes, that's why I always recommend moving the slider back to a default 'low, medium, or high' setting and starting from there. Then just change one parameter at a time doing a small region render to experiment and see if the change brings anything to the table (or takes away....). I like to enable history in the VFB, the 'H' button at the bottom, then in settings enable 'automatically save'. Then each 'region render' you do automatically saves and you can easily look at the however many quick region renders you did and compare the time. Even if the regions are taking 15 seconds to render, you know if you change a setting and now it's taking 30 seconds...it probably going to adversly effect the time the whole rendering will take... I was recently troubleshooting lighting in an interior kitchen scene. Render was taking +/-90 minutes. I did render region renderings around one can light and tried some different settings, then did a region rendering around a few other lights, then on to a region showing a cabinet and floor and played with some other settings along with sun/environment settings. Long story long: In 30 minutes of troubleshooting I dramatically increased the quality of the image and brought the render time down from 90 minutes to +/-30 minutes, or less depending on angle rendered. (I also added some fill lights to help with some darker areas, less noise to clean = faster render) Remember every scene will be different and have its own factors so you'll always need to play with/experiment with some settings here or there. Good to start from defaults and tweak settings one at a time and evaluate them carefully....and don't be afraid to just reset to defaults and start over if you stray to far from the path.... Hope you're getting things worked out, cheers!
