Running total of measurements?

If I measure the distance from one point on an object to another point and then from that point to another, etc. can I keep a running total? Am I missing something about the tape measure tool or is there a plug in to get a cumulative total of consecutive, continuous measurements?

If you select several lines anywhere then Right Click "Entity Info" you will have total length!
So draw simple lines between your objects!
is for another funny things!
PS Just Group all before draw "measure lines" for a more easy select, erase them after...
...and of course for all these new lines don't make surfaces with yet existing on the screen !Or Draw them on a new layer but don't forget to Group all before for same reason...
