I'm a middle school Tech teacher that uses SketchUp a LOT, and have been including things like MS Physics and Twilight Render lately to incorporate into lessons. As we've had students with computer issues who need to reformat and reinstall SketchUp, it seems that SketchUp Make is going away and our only option is to use the online web browser version. If you try to go and download SketchUp Make from the website, it gives a 404 error and redirects you to it now being in the Google Suite and only online. Really upsetting for us, as we have over 1,000 students using SketchUp and doing really cool things with Physics and photorealistic renderings.

I guess my question is about the capability of continuing with these extensions on the online web version if this is to become our only option. Does anybody know of any workarounds? When we try to install Make from older installation files, it tells us our trial is up and we can't buy Pro. I'm really hoping to avoid the online version as I feel it's laggier and not as feature complete as Make.

        Have you tried this link?
I just clicked on it and got the .exe file to download.

Whenever we try to install from those .exes or old versions we have, it says "Trial Expired" when we load it. We've tried to uninstall old versions but it seems to lock us out of using Make and forces us to try to upgrade to Pro. We were successfully able to install an old SketchUp 2015 .exe, but it gave us the "30 day trial" message.

I just looked around the online version and find it frustratingly laggy, and can't seem to find any way to search through any sort of Warehouse, and I'm guessing (like my original question talks about) that there's no way to run custom MS Physics/rendering plugins.

Sounds like you were running an education license at some stage?

I don't think we've ever licensed anything, just used the free download from the Website. We've never used the Pro version, and I thought all the other versions were free. It was just SketchUp 2015, 2016, and then it went to "2017 Make" this year.
