Wow! Above and beyond Rich. Many thanks. Yes, I started with the full star like you show. I had to break it down where my woodworking could make the components. 5 left and 5 right. With compounding errors. where a .1 to .2 deviation in 10 joins ends up with a 1mm to 2mm gap. Somewhere along the way I've done that. I might mention that even now I can zoom down to a matching corner and see a misalignment gap. When measured I get -0.0~. Then SU crashes. I'm deducing I've zoomed in to far. Even then, that variation will translate into physical woodworking fabrication to say 5mm gap. Which is a lot of work to find a gap that size.

That's very convincing. Even the fresnel effect looks good. Doesn't look like a render and to be honest if you said it was a photo I wouldn't 2nd guess it.

I asked Chat gpt to put together a python code to input into blender to make its functionality less of a challenge to migrate from SU to blender. Here is the result.
