Parametric Modelling - Smoothness - HELP Needed
-
Hi Community!
I'm trying to create parametric curved forms but i cannot seem to create smooth flowing forms as per the image attachment. I've used the Curviloft Extension to create lofts / meshes between 2d spline profiles and then have used Slicer Extension to cut them up but I cannot seem to get them looking as smooth as image attached.
Has anyone done this before? Know of any good extensions or techniques to create these shapes / form in sketchup?
Would really appreciate any advice
Thanks
RVK

Your starting 'lines' as curves need to be suitably segmented, the more bits in them the smoother the 3d CurviLoft result.
So you need to have a higher segment count in any arcs that you then weld into a complex curve.
Fredo has some tools to change segmentation of curves/splines etc...My Slicer tool simply cuts up the 3d form, so you need to ensure it's suitable smooth before slicing...

You say "Parametric Modeling" : super cool opportunity to test this new free tool!
