    BlenderGIS can get you pretty good images.. you do need an API key to get set up but it's all free and you can even generate 3d geometry based on the elevations in the satellite images.. it tiles in blender so you the more you zoom the better the image quality to a point.

    Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

    If you select just the edges that you want to connect, turn them in to a group, then draw an edge(or an arc/curve) on each end to bridge to gap to create 'closed geometry', you could then use Soap Skin & Bubble and get a mesh created. You could also use Curviloft: Select just the edges that you want to connect, turn them in to a group, run 'BZ Polyline Segmentor' to create equal segments on both edges, then run Curviloft to bridge the gap.

    Does anyone know what the level of clarity/accuracy is (e.g. 60cm, 30cm, 15cm, etc.) for the topographic data in the location terrain feature of geolocation? I have a number of geolocation tiles that I imported into my model in SU2020 as well as in SU2021 using the 'Add more imagery' Geo-location feature, being sure to have the 'Show Terrain' option checked. I have attempted to do this with having the tiles locked as well as unlocking them, with no success.

    Could it be a plugin/extension in 2018 causing the issue, that is not in 2020? I would recommend using 2021 if possible. There has been a lot of 'under the hood' improvements with bug fixes etc.

    I still not 100% sure what are you trying to get. Understand: You can drape any object on any surface. If z values are not ok, then adjust the surface

    You can use the 3D Text tool to put text on faces in the model. Keep in mind that it can add lots of geometry and bloat your model file. Or you can use the Text tool to add labels that have leaders anchored to faces.

    When I tried that I was able to open my model file but only in read-only mode. I went to my File Explorer and clicked on it to open and was able to edit the model and save it. Don't have any idea what I did to start. Thanks for the feedback, guys!!

    Naturally I agree with everything slbaumgartner says about assigning tags to edges and faces. I had disabled the recursive part of the plugin as I did not need that. I've been using this successfully over the years. Following recent helpful discussions with slbaumgartner and anotheron the other forum regarding ruby coding, for my personal use, I have reworked the code and wrapped it in modules.

    TIG has such plugins i think. Go to 'PluginStore' here, filter plugins by author (TIG) and read descriptions.
